Here's What LL Cool J and His Wife of 25 Years Simone Smith Wore for Their New Year Celebration
In a recent wholesome Instagram photo, American rapper and actor LL Cool J and his wife of 25 years, Simone Smith, were seen posing together in matching camo outfits while celebrating the new year.
It is the new year, and LL Cool J and his wife Simone Smith have never looked happier. The love birds were seen looking sweet together as they posed in matching outfits to celebrate the new year.
In the wholesome shot posted just two days ago, the pair were fully clad in matching camo gears as they posed in an open field with the yellow-leaved trees serving as a backdrop.
The 52-year-old rapper paired the outfit with a black face cap, giant sunshades, and a pair of black lace-up boots. Simone, on the other hand, had on a matching camo cap and brown Timberland boots.
Her long braided hair peeped out of the cap and fell to her shoulders and front in a straight line. She also had on simple makeup and had her nails painted a lovely shade of turquoise.
Seeing this shot, it is clear that LL Cool J and Simone share a tight bond. It's hard to imagine that the loved-up couple has been married for 25 years after tying the knot in 1995.
However, they had known each other longer than that as they met in 1987 when they were teenagers. The rapper met her through a friend during a drive, and they dated for several years before finally settling down.
They then went on to build a lovely tight-knit family. They are the proud parents of four beautiful kids, their 29-year-old son Najee, and three daughters Italia, 28, Samaria, 23, and Nina-Symone, 18.
The actor is also set to release new music.
Despite having a seemingly perfect life, the rapper and his wife have had to face their fair share of ups and downs. In 2004, Simone was diagnosed with stage III chondrosarcoma, a rare bone cancer.
She underwent a 15-hour surgery after which she had to go through a two and a half year recovery and had to learn to walk again.
However, Simone's husband was her pillar of support throughout the procedure and even offered his fibula for her surgery. Now 14 years later, Simone is doing better than ever.
She and the rapper even recently decided to give back to the community by collaborating with the "Beat Cancer Like a Boss" campaign and donating a portion of her Simone's Jewelry line proceeds to the cause.
In other related news, LL Cool J also recently spread his wings after launching his lifestyle brand called "Rock The Bells," named after his 1985 hit single. The brand collaborated with designer Alexander John and dropped The Chain Collection.
