Us Weekly: Ben Affleck & His Ex Ana de Armas Hope to Remain Friends After Their Split

This week, it was reported that Ben Affleck and his girlfriend have chosen to end things after being together for almost one year. New reports have now revealed how the pair wishes to proceed.

Ben Affleck, 48, and his girlfriend of one year, Ana de Armas, 32, were initially linked as a couple in early March 2020. At the time, they were together on a trip to De Armas’s native country Cuba.

The pair then took off to Costa Rica to continue their romantic vacation before going back to Los Angeles. It’s believed they met each other initially in the fall of 2019 while working together.

At the time, the actors’ were filming the upcoming thriller “Deep Water” in New Orleans. Now that the former couple has allegedly gone their separate ways, an “Us Weekly” source shared how they would proceed.

According to the insider, De Armas and Affleck wish to “still maintain some type of friendship.” The informant explained that the decision was made because the former couple had gotten very close.

The actors had their relationship issues, the source said, but they want to stay on good terms and keep their friendship. Another insider told the publication that the breakup had been amicable.

The source claimed the actress was the one who ended things with the “Batman” star. Things went south for the pair when they realized they were going in different directions in their lives and weren’t seeing eye-to-eye.

Affleck and De Armas couldn’t work through their differences and decided to end their relationship. Not long after the news broke that the two stars had called it quits, something seemed to solidify the claims.

A worker was seen throwing out a life-size cutout of the actress from Affleck’s Los Angeles home. When the pair were still dating, the actor’s children played with the cutout with De Armas.

A “People” magazine source claimed that Affleck had wanted their relationship to work out. The actress having “great energy” meant Affleck was always happy whenever she was around him.

She’s a person who also liked to stay healthy and inspired the same lifestyle in her now-former boyfriend. However, their relationship just became too complicated for their liking because of their differences.

Being a younger person meant De Armas was quite adventurous. The insider claimed that she would want to travel when she wasn’t working, and she didn’t want to settle in Los Angeles.

Sadly, Affleck’s children are based in Los Angeles. With his actress ex-wife Jennifer Garner, the actor shares two daughters Violet, 14, Seraphina, 11, and one son Samuel, 8.

After news of their alleged breakup went public, De Armas showed off her new bob cut in a video. On Sunday, she appeared in her friend Claudia Muma’s video, where she debuted the look.
