A LOVING REMINDER

La La shared a collaged picture of herself with Vanessa in different colors. The 39-year-old Puerto Rican TV personality was featured lying on a bed with Vanessa. On top of the photo, a text read:

"I Love you @vanessabryant."

La La accompanied her sweet message with a red heart. For the "Power" star, sharing it was her way of cheering up the 38-year-old widow during a difficult time.

STILL MOURNING KOBE'S DEATH

Kobe died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, on January 26 last year. Aside from him and Gianna, baseball coach John Altobelli, five other passengers, and the pilot were killed on impact.

Many fans worldwide still mourned the basketball star's death, while others put up social media pages to honor his death. He was considered one of the NBA's best players.

There are video shrines that show Kobe's image as a way to honor him. They also commemorated the death of Gianna, who was also known by many as "Mambacita."

COPING WITH GRIEF

La La's heart-warming gesture was one of the many things she does to comfort Vanessa. She shared in a previous interview with People that she has daily check-ins with her longtime friend.

She felt that it was hard for Vanessa to cope with grief while in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic. The "Think Like a Man" alum decided to talk to her every day.

Losing a friend is still painful for the former Lakers star Shaquille O'Neal.

She became known as "Aunt La La" to Vanessa's daughters, Natalia, 17, Bianka Bella, 3, and one-year-old Capri Kobe. La La would call them her family.

The duo started as NBA wives to support their basketball star husbands, Kobe with the Los Angeles Lakers, and Carmelo Anthony with the Portland Trailblazers.

While she adores her enduring friendship with Vanessa, La La also loves how her 13-year-old son, Kiyan, became close friends with the Bryant children.

Meanwhile, losing a friend is still painful for the former Lakers star Shaquille O'Neal. The basketball star opened up in a recent interview about his plans to honor Kobe.

Shaquille had a deep connection to Kobe, who he considered his friend and brother. The duo led the Los Angeles Lakers to win the NBA championship for three consecutive seasons.
