On the recent episode of “The Masked Singer UK,” the Dragon and the Harlequin were unmasked as a famous singer and a well-known television show host. Both stars are currently the same age.
On Saturday, fans got to watch the latest episode of “The Masked Singer UK” that happened to be the semi-finals. The Harlequin duped judge Davina McCall who didn’t name Gabrielle, 51, as the star beneath the costume.
Matt Lucas, Mo Gilligan, Rita Ora, and Jonathan Ross all figured out the singer's identity. The Dragon proved to be more of a challenge as the person underneath it convinced the judges she was someone else.
Eventually, she was unmasked as Sue Perkin, 51, the former “The Great British Bake Off” host. They were bothunmasked
when they failed to impress the viewers with their performances on the show.
After the revelation, Gabrielle shared that she was actually a nervous performer. She confessed that she took part in the show with the hopes of getting out of her comfort zone and challenging herself.
The musician revealed that she initially tried to hide her normal singing voice so it wouldn’t be easy to figure out who she was. However, after a couple of weeks, she forgot about her plan.
Instead, she started singing with her original voice. Gabrielle also confessed that she usually said no to taking part in television shows but with “The Masked Singer UK,” she wanted to push herself.
Hiding her identity required her to wear a balaclava, a hoodie with the words “don’t speak to me,” a visor, and gloves when she arrived on set. No part of the body was allowed to be seen.
She also couldn’t talk to almost all the people who worked on the show. The musician could only shake her head for “yes” and “no” and put a thumbs up when asked questions.
She also had to stay in her dressing room and was escorted when she moved around. Gabrielle recalled how overwhelming this had all been for her on the first day but eventually, she got used to it.
It’s still yet to be seen who will win the Golden Mask trophy for this year. Last year on the US version, The Sun was unmasked as singer LeAnn Rimes which reality star Brandi Glanville had predicted all along.
After the finale, an old tweet from Glanville started making the rounds on social media, where she first mentioned her prediction. “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star was once married to Rime’s husband, Eddie Cibrian.
“The Masked Singer US’s” host, Nick Cannon, 40, had to step out of his hosting duties when he recently tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Niecy Nash, 50, temporarily replaced him.
