Late television presenter and Prince Harry’s ex, Caroline Flack, is honored by her loved ones via social media tributes on the first anniversary of her death.
It has been one year since the word tragically said goodbye to English television presenter Caroline Flack after taking her own life at 40. Now, on her first death anniversary, her loved ones are honoring the legacy she left behind.
Several of her friends, including her boyfriend at the time of her death, Lewis Burton, all shared heartbreaking tributes on social media while encouraging others to look after those around them while they are alive.
THE TRIBUTES POUR IN
“Love Island,” the reality show Flack hosted from 2015 to 2019, shared a lovely photo of the late host and wrote that she was always in their hearts. Burton took to his Instagram story to share a romantic image of him and his late girlfriend.
Two months before her tragic death, Flack was charged with assaulting Burton.
The former couple was in a warm embrace, with Flack sweetly smiling at the camera. Burton captioned the photo, writing, “I will never forget you,” alongside a red heart emoji. Her “Love Island” co-host Iain Sterling wrote:
“To my friend Caroline, thinking of you today. Miss you mate x.”
He shared a series of images that showed him and Flack striking playful poses as they posed for the camera. Laura Whitmore, who replaced Flack as the host of the reality series, honored her close friend on Sunday.
During her BBC Radio Show, Whitmore sweetly remembered the late presenter by playing a special rendition of her favorite song, “The Glory of Love” by musician Imelda May. She confessed that words were not enough, but the song felt appropriate.
The 35-year-old then took to social media and shared a sentimental lyric from the song alongside an intimate photo of her and Flack having fun outdoors. Lou Teasdale, Flack’s friend, shared that she misses the presenter.
THE STORY BEHIND HER DEMISE
Two months before her tragic death, Flack was charged with assaulting Burton after being found covered in blood at her home in North London. According to a London coroner, the 40-year-old took her life out of fear of the court case.
The coroner noted that the publicity the case would bring terrified Flack in combination with her fluctuating mental health. Having to step down from her role in “Love Island” made it even worse for her.
SHE HAD A FLING WITH PRINCE HARRY
According to her memoir, “Storm in a C Cup,” Flack and Prince Harry dated for a while before the tabloids found out. She explained that it happened in 2009 when Harry was 25 and serving in the armed forces.
She recalled that they began dating after being introduced by a mutual friend, Caroline Pinkham, who had previously dated the royal. However, as soon as the media caught up with them, they ended things abruptly.
