In a recent social media post, Christina Anstead paid tribute to her late grandmother and revealed that she was reverting back to her maiden name. She also changed her last name on the account.
Christina Anstead, 37, began dating Ant Anstead, 41, in October 2017. Their relationship progressed quite quickly and by December 2018, they had a surprise backyard wedding to tie the knot.
The ceremony was held at their home in Newport Beach, California. In September 2019, the couple welcomed a son, Hudson London, 1, but his birth stirred the pot in their relationship.
According to a “People” magazine source, the couple started struggling with their relationship after their son was born. The insider gave clarity to the couple’s issues stating:
"After the baby, they started having conflicts.”
Then on September 18, 2020, the “Flip or Flop” star shocked her fans when she announced in an Instagram post that her marriage to Ant had ended. She explained in the caption why they’d gone their separate ways.
Christina revealed that the decision to separate had been a mutual one. She explained how grateful they would always be for each other and that their children were their main priority.
In November 2020, the “Christina on the Coast” star officially filed for divorce from the “Wheeler Dealers” host. She also filed for physical and joint legal custody of their son.
Christina shares Brayden James, 5, and Taylor Reese, 10, with her ex-husband Tarek El Moussa. While Ant is a father to daughter Amelie, 17, and son Archie, 14, from his previous marriage to Louise Herbert.
On Wednesday, Christina took to Instagram to reveal that she was reverting back to her maiden name. From Tuesday, her Instagram biography read "Christina Haack" but her handle is still @christinaanstead.
In her recent announcement, the reality star shared two images of her grandmother, Mildred “Biddy” Haack. One of the photos also showed a throwback picture of her late grandfather too.
She confessed that her grandmother had the biggest influence in her life when she was growing up. Christina recalled the summer holidays she spent at her family’s farm, staying up at night talking.
She revealed that Mildred had been the only person she had trusted with her life. The late grandmother was described as someone who played her own tune in life even during the difficult era she grew up in.
The star recalled how her grandmother had loved her hard and told her she could do anything in life. She was the reason Christina knew what unconditional love was and the star missed her daily, adding:
“Taking back the family’s last name and know my grandparents are smiling from above.”
