On her 40th birthday, socialite Paris Hilton said yes to her boyfriend Carter Reum and became the owner of a huge emerald-cut diamond ring. The co-founder of VEEV Spirits popped the question after a year of dating the DJ.

The beautiful proposal happened when the lovebirds went away to a private island to celebrate Hilton’s upcoming birthday. Hilton looked ravishing in a sequin dress designed by Retrofete.

The maxi dress mirrored a bridal-esque style and featured a plunging neckline with a high-thigh slit. Hilton accessorized the gown with an elegant Loschy crown and a pair of fingerless bedazzled gloves.

According to reports, the blinding ring was an emerald-cut mega carat diamond ring designed by Jean Dousset, whose great-great-grandfather was the famous French jeweler, Louis Cartier.

In a 40-second YouTube clip on her channel, Hilton gave fans a closer look at the beautiful sparkler in a time-lapse hand painting done in the Atelier of Dousset. The video showed viewers a peek at the design process of the intricate details.

Hilton and Reum began dating in late 2019. The duo was good friends for more than a decade.

Hilton shared the news of the engagement on social media with a short clip showing the intimate moments she shared with her beau on the big day. In the accompanying caption, she gushed about their love, writing:

“When you find your soulmate, you don’t just know it. You feel it. My love & I have been together since our first date.”

She shared details of the proposal, revealing that the venture capitalist planned the surprise getaway to celebrate her turning a year older. She wrote that as they walked along the beach, Reum got down on one knee and proposed.

Per reports, this is the fourth time Hilton has been engaged. In 2018, she was engaged to actor Chris Zylka. Before Zylka was Greek socialite Paris Latsis in 2005 and model Jason Shaw in 2002.

Hilton and Reum began dating in late 2019. The duo was good friends for more than a decade. In September, “The Simple Life” star gushed about her relationship with Reum in an exclusive interview with People Magazine.
