Oyeku proudly took to his Instagram to share the same photo. "We dreamt it and it’s now a reality. Nyla Fe Oyeku, welcome to the world," he captioned the post.

Vann and Oyeku decided to grow their family amid the pandemic. In December 2020, Vann shared how she and her fiancé tried hard to get pregnant.

Vann used ovulation strips to know the optimal time to plan the baby. She was pretty nervous to take the pregnancy test, but when she saw it was positive, her heart was filled with unspeakable joy.

It took some time for the "Queen Sugar" star to realize there is no perfect time to have a baby. It is a choice women make — neither the world nor their careers stop for them.

The pregnancy was not devoid of challenges. Sixteen weeks into her pregnancy, Vann was diagnosed with cervical insufficiency that required her to get a Shirodkar cerclage to ensure the safety of her baby.

Throughout the tough journey, Vann's husband stuck by her side. He helped her get through 2020 and kept making her laugh. Oyeku's love and support gave Vann the strength she needed to embrace the changes.
