Congratulations are in order for the particularly beloved "Hairspray" actress. Actress Ricki Lake recently announced her engagement to her beau, Ross Burningham, and fans are dying to know more about him.

Until now, Lake kept most of her life, especially her relationship life, out of the spotlight. The 52-year-old often left fans wondering what she was doing and if she would ever try love again. They finally got their answer.

In December 2020, the actress blew her fans away with the most unexpected but surely appreciated post in which she first introduced her new partner.

Lake uploaded a cute picture of her and a charming dark-haired man cozying up to each other. In typical Ricki fashion, she kept details to the minimum with the caption:

True to her caption, the "Hairspray" star looked nothing short of happy, content, and most importantly, in love! So did the charmer beside her.

Her doting fans hurried straight to the comments to congratulate her and her new beau as they showered the post with likes. It was more than a warm welcome.

According to Lake's recent "Good Morning America" appearance, she and her soon-to-be husband found love in a hopeless place.

Lake's dark-haired sweetheart is no doubt a man with impressive feats. The handsome hunk is a successful lawyer who is a partner at the law firm Gunderson Dettmer. He reportedly graduated from Brigham Young University Law School.

Burningham and Lake are quite clearly a brilliant match. The "Cry-Baby" star shared the news of their engagement this February on Instagram. She wrote:

"Friends, I'm so so so excited to share some good news! I'm engaged! This is Ross. He is my person. He is wonderful."

The beautiful caption accompanied a sweet selfie of them. Describing him as "her person," she expressed how grateful it is to have him and the love they share. Her fans were touched deeply.

According to Lake's recent "Good Morning America" appearance, she and her soon-to-be husband found love in a hopeless place: the pandemic. She explained that she was on a COVID walk when she came across an acquaintance and got chit-chatting.

She told People that they are both empty-nesters with their kids all grown up. Being together all alone has them feeling giddy like children, she shared.

This wonderful news has come three years after losing her second husband, Christian Evans, to suicide in February 2017. The actress opened up about her grief in 2019 and shared that the tragedy was one she would never fully recover from.

Evans and Lake were married for three years, but she shares her two sons, Milo and Owen, with her first husband, Rob Sussman. She was married to Sussman from 1994 to 2004.

It is absolutely wonderful that this lovable and admirable woman has found love again after enduring tragedy in the past. This just might be the best legal world-meets-Hollywood crossover yet!
