ET Online: Princess Eugenie & Her Husband Are Excited to Be Parents to Their Newborn Son August
Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack, are excited to be first-time parents to their newborn son, August Philip.
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank became new parents on February 9, 2021, as they welcomed their little bundle of joy, August Brooksbank, into this world.
Eugenie welcomed her son at the Portland Hospital in London, the same hospital where Meghan Markle gave birth to her son, Archie, whom she shares with Prince Harry.
EXCITED TO BE PARENTS
The princess had her August through C-section due to a previous scoliosis surgery and brought him home four days after. Royal expert Katie Nicholl revealed:
"We're told Eugenie and Jack are doing really well. They are thrilled to be parents. They are absolutely overcome with love and emotion for their little son."
The newest member of the royal family is Her Royal Highness' ninth great-grandchild, with Prince Philip, while he is Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew's first grandchild.
AUGUST'S NAME
The couple has a modern parenting-style and decided that August need not carry the royal title. However, they did pay tribute to Eugenie's grandfather by naming their son August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.
His Royal Highness is currently admitted to a London hospital after feeling unwell.
"It was very special that Philip [...] has been honored and [paid] tribute to in the naming of their child," Nicholl added. Eugenie and the Prince have a great relationship, which made her gesture really sweet.
TYING THE KNOT
In October 2018, Eugenie and Brooksbank exchanged their vows during a lavish ceremony at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. They relocated to Frogmore Cottage, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's previous home, in November.
An insider previously revealed that Harry and Markle entrusted his home to Eugenie, his cousin with whom he had always shared an incredibly close bond.
Frogmore Cottage is located near the Royal Lodge at Windsor Great Park, Eugenie's parents' house, and Windsor Castle, where Her Majesty and Prince Philip reside.
PRINCE PHILIP'S CONDITION
His Royal Highness is currently admitted to a London hospital after feeling sick and being advised by the doctor to be under close medical monitoring.
Many were worried about the Prince's health due to his age, but according to reports, the 99-year-old entered the King Edward VII Hospital looking well and without a serious health condition.

Prince Philip retired from public service four years ago and minimized his engagements and appearances. His family and fans have been wishing him well and hoping for a fast recovery.
