Drew Scott Wishes Father Jim a Happy 87th Birthday — See the Throwback Photos He Shared

“Property Brothers” star Drew Scott recently took to his Instagram account to share a series of throwbacks with his father Jim, marking the latter’s 87th birthday with affection and humor.

42-year-old Canadian reality TV personality Drew Scott marked his nearly-nonagenarian father Jim Scott’s most recent birthday anniversary with a touching slideshow shared on social media.

On March 2, 2021, the “Property Brothers” co-host took to Instagram to commemorate Jim’s 87th birthday with a series of throwbacks of the father and son having nice moments together and an old image of young Jim holding a guitar.

Drew started the heartfelt caption to his post by celebrating his father’s time spent on earth so far. Drew said he was certain Jim had made the world “a better place” and admitted he was fortunate to have him as a father. He added:

“Happy birthday dad! Can’t wait to hug you and share a scoop of strawberry ice cream with you.”

In the first snapshot, the father and son appear in costumes, looking like gym enthusiasts from the 1980s, with Drew wearing a long-haired blond wig and a bandana. The photo is followed by a couple more of Jim wearing a kilt.

The post has been very well-received among Jim’s fans and followers on the social network, with more than 45,000 of them hitting the like button and several others taking to the comments section to leave supportive messages.

HONORING THEIR PARENTS

Drew and his “Property Brothers” co-star brother Jonathan became big names with their home improvement business and TV shows, but they never cease to credit their parents for their achievements.

In fact, there is a section on the brothers’ official website that honors both their father, Jim, and their mother, Joanne, with the two answering questions about parenting with great wisdom.

“Our family has always been behind us in everything we do. Our parents taught us by example to love and support each other no matter what,” Jonathan says at one point in the interview with his and Drew’s parents.

Even though Drew has been married to his wife Linda Phan for nearly three years now and has been open about wanting to start a family, he is yet to become a father. Drew will certainly put what he learned from his parents to good use.

CELEBRATING THEIR LOVE

Back in August 2017, Drew and Jonathan used a family vacation to surprise Jim and Joanne with a vow renewal in Scotland in time for the couple’s 51st anniversary.

As Jonathan later explained on Facebook Live, Jim and Joanne originally eloped when they got together, so they never had the chance to organize a proper wedding, which inspired the brothers to make a big celebration of their love.
