In 1998, Hollywood was surprised with the news that TV producer Ryan Haddon, the daughter of model Dayle Haddon and businessman Glenn Souham had started dating actor Christian Slater.

A year after they welcomed Jaden, they finally decided to tie the knot. They got married on February 12, 2000. Only a year after they got married, they said hello to another family member. Their daughter, Eliana Sophia, was born in 2001.
THE CHAOTIC DOWNWARD SPIRAL
The beginning of the end of Haddon and Slater's marriage was shocking to many, to say the very least. One day in 2003, the tabloids carried some unexpected news of Haddon's arrest.
The actor's wife was allegedly arrested after she hurled a glass at him during a heated late-night disagreement. The injured actor ended up needed stitches while Haddon was arrested for domestic battery.
She was subsequently booked at the Las Vegas' Clark County Detention Center and was later freed after twelve hours and posting bond. Slater was then treated at the Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center.
After the divorce, Slater also went on to find love, albeit a little later than his ex-wife.
The former couple was reportedly in their hotel suite at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino when the police arrived at 7 a.m. Slater declined to press charges, but sadly, the marriage's foundation had seemingly already crumbled, leading to an imminent end.
Come Christmas 2004, the couple announced that they were separating while Slater was living in London's West End at the time, preparing for a performance in the stage play "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest."
In 2005, the actor filed for divorce after five years of being married, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason behind the divorce. Their joint statement reportedly stated that they reached the decision mutually and amicably.
HADDON'S LIFE AFTER
After their messy and highly publicized divorce, Haddon had plenty to work on with her personal wellness journey. The TV producer and mother of two struggled with drug and alcohol abuse.
According to her personal blog, ryanhaddon.com, she also struggled with eating disorders. In a self-written article with Poosh, the TV producer opened up about those dark years that she fought hard to overcome. She candidly wrote:
"Here's how it began: the first drinks were fun. I felt a part of the social groups we frequented in a way I hadn't before, and that felt nice."
Haddon admitted that she fell in love with the buzz but soon noticed that she was unable to figure out her limits. It took her a long time to admit that she was an alcoholic as she continued making excuses the further she slipped.
In another honest article shared on her blog, Haddon chronicled how recovery changed her life and brought her back from the edge. She admitted that returning from such dangerous extremes was not easy, and neither was it for the faint of heart.
In the years to come, Haddon found love again after finding herself. She married actor Marc Blucas on July 25, 2009. The Marc Blucas-Ryan Haddon romance soon led to two children.
The couple shares two young daughters while Ryan Haddon's children with her former husband, Christian Slater, are not only gorgeous but are also grown-up teenagers.
SLATER'S LIFE AFTER
After the divorce, Slater also went on to find love, albeit a little later than his ex-wife. In 2013, he married his girlfriend of three years, Brittany Lopez.
They welcomed a daughter in 2019. Seeing as both Haddon and Slater came from such a dark and tumultuous past, it is heartwarming to see that they are leading happy lives.
