'Alaskan Bush People' Star Bear Brown Honors Late Dad as He Celebrates Son River's 1st B-Day
"Alaskan Bush People" star Bear Brown paid tribute to his late father Billy as he marked his son River's 1st birthday. The patriarch passed away in February at 68 years old.
About a month after patriarch Billy Brown passed away, one of his seven children, Bear Brown, chose to sweetly remember his late dad while celebrating a massive milestone in his family life.
Yesterday, Bear's son River turned 1, and the reality star took to Instagram to commemorate the celebration. The proud father shared a heart-melting photo of little River surrounded by blue balloons and a decoration banner with the words one.
The cute toddler looked like a real gentleman with a blue bow tie and suspenders outfit paired with his matching pampers. Bear, in the caption, declared that River was officially one before paying tribute to his late dad. He wrote:
"I've also taken to calling him Little Billy, in honor of Da, I know without a doubt, my Dad would be proud of me! I will try my hardest to be as good as a dad as he was."

A heartbroken Bear praised his father, admitting that the late Billy was always there for him and had the right answers no matter the silly questions he asked. The 33-year-old continued, noting that his father helped everyone he came across.

The 68-year-old never failed to stand up for what he believed in and always took his faith in God seriously while doing all he could to love life truly. Bear concluded, confessing that he had "large boots to fill" and promised to do his best.
Over the weekend, the "Alaskan Bush People" star opened up about his grief towards his father's heartbreaking demise in a candid Instagram post. He shared pictures of his father's including one of Billy, in a jet airplane.
The grieved son wrote that he loved his father more than words could describe. However, Bear expressed hope in reuniting with Billy when he gets called up to heaven before sharing that his father taught him about surviving in the Alaskan wilderness.
Of all the children the patriarch left, Bear has been the most vocal about the pain associated with his father's demise. He was the one who shared the news of Billy's death on Instagram, revealing that his dad died after suffering a seizure.
