Patrick Mahomes' Fiancée Brittany Matthews Gives 1st Glimpse of Their Daughter Sterling Skye

Patrick Mahomes’ fiancee, Brittany Matthews, shared a compilation of videos throughout her pregnancy until her daughter was born.

Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews started as high school sweethearts at Whitehouse High School in East Texas. For several years, the pair shared their love and confided in each other, even if they attended different colleges.

In 2017, Mahomes chased after his athletic dreams and joined the NFL for the Kansas City Chiefs, while Matthews became a fitness trainer. Through it all, their love stayed still, and now, they have another person to share it with -- their daughter.

WORKING OUT WITH SKYE

The new mom recently shared her first video showing their little angel, Sterling Skye. The short Instagram post featured a compilation of Matthews doing hip thrusts throughout the months.

As the video progressed, her baby bump slowly grew bigger until eventually reaching her 39th week pregnant, two days before she was induced. Finally, the last frame saw Matthews holding her daughter while working out. She captioned the post:

“The most amazing journey, to bring the biggest blessing into our life?Baby girl, we love you! ? #sterlingskye.”

WELCOMING THEIR DAUGHTER

The couple welcomed their little bundle of joy on February 20, 2021, a few days before she was initially due to come. Both parents shared the news on their respective Instagram accounts, posting the same photo.

During an interview, the athlete revealed that it did not matter if he was having a daughter or a son.

Although they did not show the newborn’s face, her tiny hand appeared to be gripping Mahomes’ finger. Matthew’s shiny necklace, which read Sterling, also appeared in the photo.

SHARING SKYE TO THE WORLD

Previously, the former professional soccer player revealed that she has no immediate plans of showing her daughter’s face on social media for the public to see.

According to Matthews, she is aware that others will share Skye’s photo once it is online; hence, she and her husband are still spending every minute with her privately.

ANNOUNCING HER PREGNANCY

Matthews first announced her pregnancy in September 2020, in the same month that Mahomes proposed. During an interview, the athlete revealed that it did not matter if he was having a daughter or a son.

Instead, he was simply excited to have a child he can love and raise with his fiancee. In October, the new parents learned of their child’s gender and could not be happier.

The past year has undoubtedly been a difficult challenge for many around the world, but it was one filled with happiness, celebration, and blessings for the couple.
