People are very enthusiastic about the relationship between Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews. They were just two friends going to the same school together in Texas at first.

When Patrick Mahomes was a freshman at Whitehouse High School in 2011, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback developed a strong bond with Brittany Matthews.

Eventually, after he gave her a rose and a Valentine's Day card the following year, their friendship began to grow. The athletes supported each other throughout their time at high school.

Mahomes was a star athlete in both football and baseball, while Matthews was an outstanding soccer player. The two were each other's first choice for dances at the gym.

Their relationship endured despite the fact they attended separate colleges as teenagers in Texas, but mostly because they chose to remain in each other's support.

As for what 2020 has taught him personally, Mahomes, who spent his rookie season as the backup to Alex Smith, clarified how he envisions it being just about growing up and becoming responsible.

In a December interview, the Kansas City Chiefs player said the best things that happened to him this past year are the announcement of their engagement and the news of their pregnancies.

During the conversation, Mahomes said it would be something special and that he'd love to find ways to better himself and become the best father he can be.

Meanwhile, in October, after Mahomes gave another NFL player a high-five, who later tested positive for COVID-19, Mahomes and Matthews had to sleep in separate rooms.
