Despite being miles away from the United Kingdom on Sunday, when the nation celebrated Mother’s Day, Prince Harry didn’t fail to honor his late mother, Princess Diana, in the sweetest way possible.
According to reports, the Duke of Sussex, who was in the United States at the time, planned to have flowers laid at the Princess of Wales’ grave in the Spencer family estate at Althorp, Northamptonshire.

Harry’s brother Prince William shared photos through Kensington Palace’s social media platforms of how his three children with Kate Middleton fondly remembered their late grandmother.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis all made cards for Princess Diana, with George and Charlotte writing that they regularly think of the late Princess of Wales. There was a heartwarming drawing of nature alongside the cards.
As part of the Mother’s Day celebration, Princess Diana’s brother Charles Spencer blessed fans with a rare black-and-white photo of their mother, Frances Shand Kydd, who passed in June 2004.
After the CBS Special aired, many fans compared it to Diana’s 1995 BBC Panorama interview.
The lovely image showed a young Kydd with a sleeping baby in her arms, who she stared adoringly at. Royal fans celebrated the matriarch, with many taking the time also to honor Princess Diana.
Prince Harry’s Mother’s Day tribute comes exactly one week after he and Meghan’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. In the bombshell CBS Special, Harry spoke about how his mother’s tragic story prompted him to take action for Meghan.
The duke explained that he was afraid of history repeating itself and had to do the needful. Harry, who is expecting his second child with Meghan, revealed how his mother would feel about them stepping away from royal duties.
The 36-year-old affirmed that she would be “very angry” about how things turned out. However, her ultimate wish would be for him and Meghan to be happy. Harry also credited Diana for helping him through the transition after stepping down.
He confessed he felt Diana’s presence through the journey and shared that it was the money she left him that sustained him and his family after being cut off financially by the royal family in the first quarter of 2020.
According to reports, Harry received an estimated $13.8million from the People’s Princess. Diana’s estate was reportedly worth about $30 million, with Prince William and Prince Harry as the chief heirs.
In her usual generous nature, Diana also made her butler Paul Burrell as well as her 17 other godchildren beneficiaries of her wealth. After the CBS Special aired, many fans compared it to Diana’s 1995 BBC Panorama interview.
In the explosive conversation, Diana opened up about mental health struggles, her experiences in the royal family, and negative coverage by the press, which Meghan also touched on during the sit-down.
