LL Cool J reportedly explained that abandoning his wife during her battle with cancer was not something he considered.

While Smith currently runs a successful jewelry business, she is best known for her marriage to LL Cool J, with whom she has enjoyed over two decades of marital bliss.

LL Cool J and Smith first met as teenagers in 1987. The duo then dated for eight years before getting married in 1995. Today, they are proud parents to four beautiful children.

Though LL Cool J and his wife have had a great marriage, they have also had their share of problems but have always found ways to overcome them together.

In 2004, Smith was diagnosed with chondrosarcoma, a type of bone cancer. For this, she had to undergo a 15-hour surgery and had to learn how to walk again during a 30 months-long recovery process.

During these difficult times, LL Cool J remained by his wife's side, providing enough love and support to get her through. She could not have asked for a more supportive partner.

Speaking about the experience, LL Cool J reportedly explained that abandoning his wife during her battle with cancer was not something he considered because he knew he had to be there for her.
