Dwayne Johnson Drops Major Announcement about Release Date for the DC Movie 'Black Adam'

On Sunday, actor Dwayne Johnson hinted at the release date of the much-anticipated DC Comics movie, "Black Adam," with a teaser video on his Instagram page.

DC Comics fans who have long been awaiting the release of the film "Black Adam" now have a timeline to look forward to following a post lead actor Dwayne Johnson made on his Instagram page.

The wrestler-turned-actor shared a video that showed him as Black Adam using his massive powers to orchestrate a takeover of New York's Time Square to announce his comic book movie's arrival date.

The buildings around Times Square have their walls covered in Black Adam's yellow lightning sign while his voice could be heard over a speaker warning that the hierarchy of power in the universe was about to change.

In Johnson's caption to the post, he did not give a specific release date for the movie. Instead, he wrote, "Black Adam is coming July 29, 2022." The actor also wrote:

"A disruptive and unstoppable global force of a message from the man in black himself ⬛️?⚡️."

Johnson's fans could not hide their excitement following his post, with many of them saying they could not wait for the film's release while others commented with several emojis.

The excited fans still have over a year to wait before the movie's release, but they are already counting down to the day, and Johnson is leading the way.

The action-packed movie will be a part origin story and part modern-day adventure.

"Black Adam" is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and stars Johnson as Black Adam, Shazam's arch-nemesis. Reports have also confirmed that Aldis Hodge stars will star as Hawkman.

Other notable names include Noah Centineo, who portrays Atom Smasher, while Quintessa Swindell will play Cyclone's character. In an Instagram post he made last week; Johnson revealed Pierce Brosnan would portray the all-knowing Dr. Fate.

He also revealed that the movie's production would kick off in three weeks. Last August, fans first learned the details about "Black Adam" and its plot during the Virtual DC Fandome event.

The action-packed movie will be a part origin story and part modern-day adventure. The film will begin 5,000 years ago when Johnson's Teth Adam gained his god-like abilities.

He was imprisoned after using his newly gained powers to devastating effect. "Black Adam" is awakened in the modern world and attempts to regain the powers he once had. However, the Justice Society of America stands in his way.

With the blockbuster movie's filming is expected to start soon, fans will get even more information about it and stay in tune with all the happenings. As always, Johnson will be there to keep them updated.
