TMZ: Jeannie Mai & Her Fiancé Jeezy Reportedly File for a Marriage License in Georgia
"The Real" co-host Jeannie Mai and rapper Jeezy have been busy preparing for their upcoming wedding. The couple recently applied for a marriage license in Georgia.
Jeannie Mai and Jeezy, according to TMZ, applied for a marriage license in Georgia at the Fulton County Court Clerk recently. The document is one of the essential steps in finalizing their marriage.
The 42-year-old TV show host began dating Jeezy in 2018. After knowing each other for some time, Mai and Jeezy, real name Jay Wayne Jenkins, officially announced their engagement in April 2020.

TMZ reported that the couple might get married within this year, given that their marriage license is limited to a certain period. The couple has yet to announced an official wedding date.
The marriage license Mai and Jeezy applied for in Georgia is reportedly valid for six months. If they don't tie the knot soon, TMZ added that they may have to do the same process again.
This will be Mai's second marriage after divorcing her first husband, Freddy Harteis, in 2018. Meanwhile, this will be Jeezy's first marriage.
Mai's wedding update came after Jeezy mourned over his mother Sandra Rose's death last February. The acclaimed rapper did not reveal the cause.
The death of Jeezy's mother came several months after Mai suffered a severe throat infection. The "Holey Moley" star was diagnosed with epiglottitis forcing her to abruptly bow out of "Dancing With the Stars" to undergo emergency surgery.
Following her recovery from her throat infection, Mai laughed at the thought that her three weeks of recuperation was a peaceful moment for Jeezy. She was advised not to talk too much.
Mai also realized the importance of taking her cleanliness habits more seriously, including sanitizing her facemasks. She never thought about rinsing her mask often, which is why she had an infection.
Following her engagement, Mai also revealed to her co-hosts Loni Love, Garcelle Beauvais, and Adrienne Bailon Houghton that she wants to be a submissive wife. She explained that she has been dominant in her career and business, adding:
"It's tiring leading all the time in my life."
In addition to Mai and Jeezy's recent update about their wedding, they will also have two ceremonies for their memorable occasion. The duo wants their special day to be fun and special.
While Jeezy wants to have a modern wedding, Mai also wants to have a Vietnamese wedding. She added that she would have two wardrobes and many outfit changes for their special day.
