Actress Gabby Sidibe's cat, Aaron, celebrated his birthday last week, and she celebrated it in grand style, even going as far as donning a gorgeous outfit to mark the day.
Sidibe took to her Instagram Story to post a picture of herself clad in a dark-colored floral long-sleeved top that she tucked into a peach double-layered skirt.
Sidibe completed her look with pink sneakers that had white soles. The actress also rocked a necklace while her hair was styled in afro curls. She posed standing in front of a mirror, holding her phone with which she snapped herself. In the caption to her post, she wrote:
"This is what I wore to my cats birthday party.!
Sidibe loves to share different aspects of her life with her fans on Instagram. In 2016, she underwent an amazing weight loss which she put on display on the "Watch What Happens Live" red carpet.
Sidibe confidently posed with her hands on her hips in a sheer black top, which she paired with a multi-colored African print skirt. She completed her look with black heels.
Bulimia eventually compounded Sidibe's depression and made things worse for her.
The "Empire" actress had been trying to lose weight naturally for over a decade. However, she decided to undergo laparoscopic bariatric surgery in May 2016 after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
In a reported interview, the actress said she did not want to worry about all the effects that accompany diabetes. However, Sidibe was adamant that she was not cheating by going for weight loss surgery.
She noted that the weight loss surgery was not an easy way out, adding that she would not have lost as much weight as she did without the procedure.
In January, Sidibe appeared on Taraji P. Henson's talk show, "Peace of Mind With Taraji," where she opened up on her battle with bulimia which started in college and addressed the factors that worsened her condition over the years.
She said bulimia brought on depression and described it as a monster, revealing it caused her to start overeating as a coping mechanism to deal with the sadness she felt.
Bulimia eventually compounded Sidibe's depression and made things worse for her as she now had to deal with an eating disorder, which eventually led to her having to perform weight loss surgery.
In a chat with Refinery 29, Sidibe said the advice she would give to her younger self is to hold on because a whole life and world was waiting for her on the other side.
The actress has endured all her past struggles and has found happiness. Today, she is engaged to Brandon Frankel, who proposed to her in the naughtiest way ever late last year. Her fans continue to wait for the announcement of their wedding date.
