The picture was taken before the 39-year-old met Prince Harry. Since her royal wedding in 2018, Markle has become one of the most photographed and controversial women in the world.
Markle reportedly starred in "Suits" for seven seasons, playing the character of Rachel Zane. Her romance with Harry is believed to be the reason behind her exit from the series. The couple was engaged and planning to marry the following month when her final episode aired in April 2018.
Show creator Korsh revealed that he had to find a way of getting the Duchess out of the show after realizing that her relationship with the Duke of Sussex had more to it, not wanting to intrude.
Life in the royal family has not been without controversy for the mother of one. From having a set of loyal fans to being targeted by critics who feel she is a bad influence on Harry, the mother of one has always been in the spotlight.
A source revealed that the decision was Her Majesty's wish and not a cover-up for the brothers' fight.
Last month, the 39-year-old became a trending topic for weeks after her interview with Oprah Winfrey aired. Alongside her 36-year-old husband, Markle made a series of claims that put the royal family on a cliff.
Her allegation that some royal family members raised concern over her son Archie's skin color became the most talked about event on social media, with many people calling the royal family out for being racist.
Her comments attracted new critics and gave old-time rivals like British journalist Piers Morgan a thing or two to say. Morgan dragged the Duchess severally, branding her a liar who only sought fame.
While many pointed fingers at her, Markle maintained that her relationship with her in-laws, especially the Queen, remains intact. Following the death of the Queen's husband, Markle announced that she would not be attending the funeral but had sent her condolences to the British monarch.
Markle also explained that she has forgiven the royal family for their treatment and is set to move forward even though she will not be gracing the funeral.
She explained that doctors advised her not to make the long trip since she would be expecting a baby soon. Her critics felt the Duchess should have found her way to the private event, but even the Queen seems to agree with her.
According to reports, the Queen understands why the Duchess cannot make the trip and wants nothing more than safety for her family. The funeral for Prince Philip has also gained attention for many reasons, including Harry's meeting with his brother, William.
There have been widespread speculations about whether or not the two brothers will walk side by side during the funeral, with many predicting a tense atmosphere for the feuding sons of Princess Diana.
