Although her wedding was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, TV personality Hoda Kotb hasn't let that stop her plans as she recently revealed who would be her maid of honor on an episode of "TODAY With Hoda & Jenna."

Hoda Kotb, best known as one of NBC's top broadcast journalists, plans her way down the aisle with her financé Joel Schiffman. The mother-of-two recently revealed who would be her maid of honor.

Kotb made the special announcement on an episode of "TODAY With Hoda & Jenna" that aired on Thursday, April 29, 2021, in which the news anchor and her co-star Jenna Bush-Hager were answering fan questions.

The show's social contributor Donna Farizan stated that a fan was curious about Kotb's wedding plans and whether or not the 56-year-old would have a maid of honor on her special day.

The author of "You Are My Happy," who was forced to postpone her wedding to Schiffman due to the coronavirus pandemic, revealed that her beloved sister, Hala, would hold the esteemed role.

The mother-of-two's candidate for maid of honor was met with the support of her co-anchors, who believed Hala would do a good job. The 56-year-old also explained how weird it was replanning her wedding.

Kotb stated that it was a bizarre experience after having her wedding plans set in stone, only to have them forcefully changed by the pandemic. This made replanning the wedding lose its original excitement.

The NBC star first announced her engagement to her longtime boyfriend Schiffman in November 2019 and initially set their wedding date in August 2020, but it was moved to November due to the pandemic.

However, their nuptials was postponed once more due to the coronavirus. Instead of being discouraged by the fallout of her wedding plans, the bride-to-be found a silver lining in the situation.

Last year, the mother-of-two revealed that despite her enthusiasm to get married to her fiancé, she was just as happy enjoying her life at that time since the wedding had been postponed.

Kotb stated that she had come to realize that Schiffman, their two daughters, Hope Catherine and Haley Joy, plus herself were already a family, and they didn't require a wedding to prove that.

The 56-year-old reportedly met her longtime boyfriend, Schiffman, in the summer of 2013, when the TV personality made an appearance at an event for Wall Street professionals. In 2015, the pair publicly announced their relationship.

On November 25, 2019, Kotb shocked fans and her fellow co-stars on the "Today" show with her gorgeous engagement ring. She also revealed her fiance proposed during a romantic dinner at the beach.
