Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s only son, Archie, is celebrating his second birthday in America. Here are a few facts about the toddler since the day he was born.

On May 6, 2019, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. Unlike his first cousins, Archie was born at Portland Hospital in Westminster, England, and made his public debut at Windsor Castle.

For the past two years, the young royal has been shielded away from the limelight, with rare photos of him shared with the public. As he celebrates his second birthday, here are a few facts about the Duke and Duchess’ only son.

HE MADE HISTORY

Archie made history the day he was born as the first British-American and mixed-race baby born into the royal family. His father is the grandson of the British Monarch, while his mother is an American Hollywood actress.

SEVENTH IN LINE

As the first child of Prince Harry, who is sixth in line to the British throne, Archie follows as seventh in line. The father and son fall behind Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Archie will undoubtedly grow up surrounded by parents who love him and a soon-to-be sibling to play with.

EIGHTH GREAT-GRANDCHILD

Archie is the eighth great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth and the late Prince Philip, whom he first met on May 8, 2019, the same day he made his public debut. Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, was also present in the meeting.

NO ROYAL TITLE

Archie was born without a royal title. According to his mom, they did not choose for their son to forego a title but was not given one. As such, he is also not entitled to receiving security.

MARKLE BAKED HIS BIRTHDAY CAKE

During his first birthday in their California family home, Archie’s mom baked him strawberries and cream cake. According to a source, the family-of-three had a small celebration with balloons and decorations.

HE HAS AN AMERICAN ACCENT

Although he was born in the United Kingdom, Archie spent more than half of his life in California. As such, the toddler developed an adorable American accent that fans first heard in a podcast.

Regardless of where he is raised, Archie will undoubtedly grow up surrounded by parents who love him and a soon-to-be sibling to play with. Fans certainly cannot wait to know more about the birthday celebrant.
