Annamarie Tendler Predicted That She Would Marry John Mulaney — Recap of Their Relationship

John Mulaney and Annamarie Tendler have been married for almost seven years. Unfortunately, they are parting ways five months after Mulaney checked into rehab.

Annamarie Tendler is a lampshade designer and makeup artist whose work has been featured by HelloGiggles and Glamour Magazine. She’s also the author of two beauty books and the owner of Silk Parlor.

All of those things didn’t just fall into her lap. After graduating high school, her parents let her take a gap year, so she moved to Los Angeles and learned how to cut hair at Vidal Sasson.

PURSUING HER DREAMS

Tendler then returned to New York to start college but dropped out shortly after. She kept herself busy by earning a certification in makeup and began her career.

John Mulaney’s wife once explained she is “very aesthetically driven,” and many of her aesthetics decisions are based on art background.

Speaking of Annamarie Tendler’s relationship with the comedian, they met in the late 2000s during a group vacation to Martha’s Vineyard, an island in Massachusetts.

Years later, the former couple wrote on their wedding website that they were not dating at the time, but Tendler knew they would be “soon after,” and she was right.

DATING MULANEY

The makeup artist was so sure about it that she even wrote a sign that read, “John is the man I’m going to marry” on February 16, 2010, four years before they actually tied the knot.

January 2012 was one of the first times John Mulaney publicly mentioned his girlfriend. He was asked how much was too much for a haircut in New York City, and he explained his girlfriend was a makeup artist and hairstylist who cut his hair for free.

The former couple enlarged their family in 2013 by adopting Petunia, a French Bulldog. They were so thrilled about their new addition that they even created an Instagram account for their “daughter.”

ASKING BEN AFFLECK TO APOLOGIZE

In 2017, “Justice League” actor Ben Affleck was heavily criticized after actress and producer Hilarie Burton accused him of sexual misconduct. The incident she referred to happened during a 2003 episode of “TRL Uncensored.”

Shortly after, Affleck apologized, which drove Annamarie Tendler to ask for an apology herself. She accused Affleck of touching her bottom at a Golden Globes party in 2014.

Tendler added that Affleck tried to play it like he was trying to move her out of the way politely. TV writer Jen Statsky later said she was at the same party, and “multiple” friends reported the same experience with Affleck.

DIVORCING MULANEY

Mulaney and Tendler made headlines on May 10, 2021, after it was reported that the comedian asked for a divorce in February. The makeup artist admitted to being heartbroken but wished him support and success.

It is important to point out that Mulaney checked himself into a 60-day alcohol and cocaine addiction rehab program in Pennsylvania in December 2020.

He has struggled with substance abuse in the past and sadly relapsed during the pandemic after being sober for 15 years. Days before Mulaney entered rehab, Tendler unfollowed him on Instagram and even deleted her account.

So far, the details of their separation are scarce. A spokesperson for Annamarie Tendler’s husband revealed John Mulaney wouldn’t comment on the matter, so we might never know the full story.
