Former reality star Paula Jones remembered her late husband and paid a heartfelt tribute to him on what would have been their wedding anniversary. The pair were married for more than a decade.
“My 600-lb Life" alum Paula Jones posted a heartbreaking tribute to her late husband on Facebook on their wedding anniversary. Jones revealed she keeps herself busy with work even though she misses him dearly.
"Today was a little rough, but I did what I do best - keep my head down and stay busy working. It is easier than feeling. You were in my dreams this morning, and it felt so real!" Jones wrote on Sunday, May 30.
WEIGHT JOURNEY
Jones continued to say that she misses her spouse and that the past weekend was one of the hardest of the year. She added that she misses the barbecues, the laughter, and the hugs.
"I know it isn't for me to understand, but I always thought I would go 1st. Today would have been 13 years married and 25 years together. I miss you, AJ! RIH! Happy Anniversary! Xo,” she added.
Jones shared a headshot of AJ along with the heart-wrenching post sharing a subtle grin. Jones's followers took to the comments section and shared messages of hope and comfort.
One said Jones is there for a purpose and to keep an eye for their children for him. “Happy anniversary to you and your angel,” one person wrote.
AJ passed away at age 33. When his wife appeared on the TLC show back in 2014, she weighed 542 pounds. In the series, Jones revealed her struggles with overeating began when she was molested at age six.
She got a wake-up call when AJ, who was also obese, died from weight-related complications. Jones then feared for their four kids if she did not do something about her health.
According to Metro, Jones was morbidly obese and suffered a stroke and meningitis due to her weight, and her children began to fear that she would die.
In March, she revealed that it used to hurt when she had to walk, including just about to do anything. Jones said that her then 8-year-old told her that she does not want her to die.
It was daunting to Jones that her kids were so scared that they might lose her. She then underwent a gastric bypass operation in the hope of reaching her goal of 220lbs. A year after the surgery, she managed to slim down to 390lbs.
WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
Like Jones, other participants from the show have also managed to shed the weight. Memorable stars such as Christina Phillips impressively shrank from 708 pounds to 183.
Diana Bunch weighed over 600 pounds and faced extreme lymphedema (swelling) in her legs. After appearing on the show, she then dropped to 265 pounds.
