Arsenio Hall's Rarely Seen Ex-Girlfriend Cheryl Bonacci Once Sued Him for Paternity and Child Support of Their Only Son

Hollywood icon Arsenio Hall once had a public legal issue between him and his private ex-lover Cheryl Bonacci on the issue of child support. The actor had some objections regarding the child support arrangement.

Many fans would recall that there was a time when TV icon Arsenio Hall was absent from both the big screen and the small screen to focus on fatherhood. However, there was also the period when he faced child support issues.

Hall's former girlfriend, Cheryl Bonacci, had accused him of not meeting his end of the child support bargain. Arsenio had objected based on the fact that he wanted some modifications to the agreement.

Bonacci had dragged the comic star to court, making it known that he had not been up to date about paying support for their then 5-year-old son. In response, the actor shared that he did not want to pay according to his past net worth.

During his peak, Arsenio was considered the most recognized and highest-grossing entertainer, and his yearly income at the time was summed at 12 million dollars.

However, the actor shared that he did not want the custody payment to be calculated according to his former yearly income. The actor noted that he would rather have it be declared according to his latter income.

Bonacci objected to this, insisting that the payment should be grossed according to Arsenio's former income estimation. While the two remained in discord, the "Coming to America" star requested a restraining order.

A close source shared on "Celebrity Justice" that Arsenio did not deny being the boy's father. However, he was pretty critical of the amount of money he was being asked to pay.

Things took a not-so-favorable turn when he and Bonacci broke up. At that moment, the actor wanted to focus on fatherhood, so he would not lose out at any moment.

Once speaking on "Oprah's Next Chapter," the award-winning actor was moved to tears. Arsenio gushed over his son, calling him a good, smart kid. The "Martial Art" star added that his son was all these things with no help from him.

Oprah commended the comedian for showing emotions, noting that it was a good thing for him to be there for his son. She alluded to how many young boys craved the presence of their fathers, and Arsenio made sure to provide that for his own kid.

Bonacci has also opened up about being a single parent and being able to handle the situation of having a new partner. She emphasized the need for honesty and a relationship that is not forced with the kid.
