TikToker Claims She and Friends Were Just Walking to Their Car When Cops Arrested Them
A TikToker claimed that she and her friends tried to get to their car when cops arrested them. The video that showcased parts of the incident has gone viral and left many netizens up in arms.
Last month, a disgruntled TikToker posted a clip that garnered a massive online reaction. The video showed footage of her friends in an altercation with the police. The group of friends can be heard screaming and trying to make sense of the incident.
At the clip's start, a cop can be heard explaining that the group was in trouble because they walked in the roadway. According to the TikToker, they were merely trying to make their way to their car when the drama started.
POLICE TOOK ACTION
One friend then explained that he was actually walking on the sideway. When he refused to provide the officer with his name, the police placed him in handcuffs.
In reaction to this, the group of friends could be heard shouting: "Let go of him!" The police offer proceeded to warn one of the friends that she would be going to jail if she touched him again.
COP SAYS WOMAN GRABBED HIM
A different cop was seen pushing a woman as she tried to help her friend who had just been arrested. Toward the end of the clip, this woman was also taken to the police vehicle in handcuffs.
There was a group of commentators that sided with the police and questioned the group's behavior.
One of the friends asked the cop: "What did she do?" He replied that "she grabbed" him. The friend denied this, and then the video ended abruptly. Online community members had varying opinions, and many were outraged.
THE ONLINE DEBATE
One user explained that they needed the background story. Another echoed this and said: "Try recording what happened before the police arrived."
COMMON IN AMERICA
There was a group of commentators that sided with the police and questioned the group's behavior. Many believed the woman grabbed the police while others asked: "How hard is it to listen to the cops?" Someone else said: "Great job, police!"
While viewers were not provided with the full story, a few pointed out that this was a common experience in America regardless of the circumstances.
DETECTIVE LOSES POLICE LICENSE
Police officers have been making headlines frequently in recent times. A former York County detective lost his police license for various instances of misconduct. One of his transgressions was the illegal arrest of a business owner back in 2011.
When Wilfred ‘Bill’ Vachon threatened to arrest a man for purportedly robbing a retired Portland police officer's daughter, he was found guilty of using his power to commit a crime and was brought to book in July of this year.
