Vicki Gunvalson's Daughter Briana Is a Cancer-Free Doting Mom of Three Kids — Meet Her

Reality star Briana Culberson is a cancer survivor and a mom of three children. However, her journey to motherhood has not been easy, as she previously suffered multiple miscarriages.

Vicki Gunvalson’s daughter Briana Culberson is a cancer-free doting mom of three kids. Culberson has battled various health issues, including the cancer scare.

In early April 2018, People reported that the now 34-year-old had been hospitalized for complications from Lupus disease.

HEALTH COMPLICATIONS

Her husband Ryan Culberson posted a picture on Instagram of his wife lying in a hospital bed at UNC Health Care in North Carolina.

At the time, he revealed that Briana was battling “inflammation around her heart.” Ryan asked fans to keep his spouse in their thoughts and prayers.

He explained that her Lupus was causing inflammation around her heart, causing it to go in and out of "irregular heart rhythm requiring her to have a cardiac ablation.”

A cardiac ablation “is a procedure that can correct heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias) and works by scarring or destroying tissue in your heart that triggers or sustains an abnormal heart rhythm,” per Mayo Clinic.

Ryan also shared a clip on his Instagram Story of himself and the couple’s kids on their way to visit Briana in which he captioned: “Another hospital run to see mom!!”

During “The Real Housewives of Orange County season 11 finale in 2016, it was revealed Gunvulson’s only daughter suffers from the incurable autoimmune disease that causes joint pain and fatigue.

Ever since her diagnosis, Briana's health has been a rollercoaster, and her mother disclosed to Page Six in October that year that it was a challenging year for her child:

"Lupus has affected part of her heart. It's literally something every other week. It affects her in different ways, and her immune system is low."

Briana underwent a “clavicle surgery that has been way overdue” in September 2019 and had the procedure in North Carolina. Ryan took to social media and shared he hopes it would be the last surgery for the mother of his kids.

Before battling Lupus, Briana was also fighting for her life against cancer. In November 2015, her mother took to her Instagram page with a sense of relief to announce her child beat the disease:

“Biopsy results are back. NO CANCER detected for Briana’s most recent biopsy! Thank you, Jesus, #prayersanswered.”

A week before the announcement, the 59-year-old shared an update with her followers on social media about traveling from California to Oklahoma to be with Briana.

At the time, Briana had undergone surgery to have her enlarged lymph nodes removed. Gunvalson revealed the procedure was a success two days after.

She shared her daughter was recovering at home with her spouse with their children, including her. The TV personality thanked everyone for their thoughts and prayers.

"The Real Housewives of Orange County" reality show had previously documented Briana's battle with thyroid cancer, and in 2012, she underwent surgery on her thyroid.

Briana has constantly updated fans about her ongoing health and wellness journey. She and Ryan have been open about their weight loss journey as they went for the Keto Diet.

Ryan had previously shared that the diet helped Briana make good progress in her battle with Lupus and the complications from the disease.

Her mom revealed that Ryan takes good care of her child and that he loves and adores her. Briana is a nurse who works at the hospital that she went to for her health treatment.

SUFFERING MISCARRIAGES

She has been battling health issues on top of suffering miscarriages. In November 2020, she got candid about experiencing the losses.

At the time, she took to Instagram while pregnant and revealed doctors advised her to continue with the ketogenic diet throughout her pregnancy.

BEING A MOM

She is a mom of three boys Troy, Owen, and Hank, the latest addition to the family. The couple welcomed their third child Hank Ryan on November 18, 2020.

The proud father took to Instagram to share the happy news alongside a snapshot of the newborn while sharing the mom and son were well. He revealed his son weighed in at 6 lbs., 5 oz. and measured 20 inches at the time of birth.

His wife followed up with an update days later after returning home from the hospital. She shared three sweet pictures from the day she gave birth, the first two showed Briana posing for the last few shots of her baby bump before giving birth, and the third displayed the little one taking a nap.
