Eminem’s Ex-wife Tried to Take Her Own Life Twice before the Alleged Recent Attempt Following Mom’s Passing
Kim Scott, Eminem’s ex-wife, almost died from suicide after realizing that her ex-husband’s rap song “Kim” was a diss to her. Unfortunately, she recently made a third suicide attempt.
According to “TMZ,” Kim Scott was recently hospitalized after a suicide attempt where she fought with police officers. On July 30, 2021, emergency workers and officers responded to a call to Eminem's ex-wife’s home.
The authorities were informed that there was someone suicidal at Scott’s Michigan home. The rapper’s ex-wife had recently lost her mother, Kathy Sluck, 65, and was struggling in the face of the tragedy.

LOSING MOM & RECENT SUICIDE ATTEMPT
An online obituary showed that Sluck passed away on July 23, 2021. According to “The Sun,” Eminem’s ex-wife and her mother had been quite “close" with Sluck facing health problems in recent years.
The loss resulted in Scott’s suicide attempt. “TMZ” reported that upon arrival, she became so combative with authorities that deputies had to restrain her as she was so violent that paramedics couldn’t check her vitals.
The publication’s sources claimed that it appeared Scott had cut herself on the back of her leg. She was rushed to a hospital for psychological and medical evaluation, but she was already back home by August 11, 2021.
2015’S CAR CRASH
The star’s ex-wife is in recovery, but it’s believed this was her third attempt at suicide over the years. In 2016, she called the radio show “Mojo in the Morning” to clear up rumors about her Driving Under the Influence (DUI) case.
She confessed that in October 2015, she was drunk when she got into a crash while driving a black Escalade. Eminem’s ex-wife admitted that she’d intended on crashing the vehicle to end her life.
Scott confessed that she’d crashed on purpose before apologizing for doing it. The incident occurred in Macomb County at 23 Mile and Card roads, leading to a response from the police and first responders.
They found her car crashed into a ditch, and a utility pole had been hit and was lying upside down. When a first responder asked Scott how much she drank, she said she’d had a fifth of Malibu rum.
LOSING HER TWIN SISTER
After her accident, Scott lost her twin sister, Dawn Scott, in January 2016 at the age of 41. Dawn was found unresponsive from an alleged drug overdose at a Warren trailer park just when she was “starting to do better.”
SCOTT’S 1ST SUICIDE ATTEMPT
In February 2007, Scott revealed that she’d made her first known suicide attempt. She claimed at the time that Eminem’s lyrics for the song “Kim” drove her to try and take her own life.
Speaking to Dr. Keith Ablow in an episode of his talk show, Scott said the final straw was when she saw her ex-husband singing the song on stage while abusing a blow-up doll that resembled her.
Scott recalled seeing how the crowd cheered, laughed, and sang along to the lyrics making her feel like they were staring at her. She knew the track was about her. That same night she tried to commit suicide at home.
EMINEM & KIM’S RELATIONSHIP
Eminem and Scott were married from 1999 until their divorce in 2001. The pair became parents to daughter Hailie Jade, now-25, and adopted the rapper's niece, Alaina, now-27.
Besides the two girls, the rapper also adopted Whitney, now 18. She is Scott’s daughter whom she had, in between her marriages to the famous rapper, with another man named Eric Hartter who reportedly took off.
In 1996, less than a year after Hailie was born, the couple broke up. The singer had started working 60-hour weeks as a cook at a dumpy Michigan restaurant, but having a newborn overwhelmed them.
“Moviepilot” claimed Eminem moved back in with his mother after the breakup while Kim relocated to a one-bedroom apartment with the infant. During this time, Eminem created his violent alter-ego Slim Shady.
The duo ended up tying the knot again for less than three months in 2006. According to reports, Scott and Eminem have a much better relationship now and are co-parenting.
