English native Patrick Christys has slammed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for raising awareness on climate change and labeled them hypocrites. Even so, the royals continue to stand behind their passion for nature conservation.

TV host Patrick Christys referred to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry as “busted flush.” The comments come after the Sussexes lectured the public on climate change.

“Are Meghan and Harry now a busted flush? Harry used to poll just under the Queen when it came to royal popularity,” Christys said live on GB News’ To The Point segment.

He continued: “The cheeky chappy who loved a night out, sometimes he loved a few nights out in a row from what was reported. And fought for this country in not one but two tours of Afghanistan.”

The television broadcaster said the Duke of Sussex was Britain's national treasure adding, "we cried when he walked behind his mother's coffin."

Christys also noted that the English natives cried happy tears "when he married, at our expense by the way, and many cried when he announced that he was leaving Britain."

He then put a stamp on it by saying that he suspects that soon enough, “it will be Prince Harry shedding those tears,” while noting how even Michelle and Barack Obama have avoided the royal couple:

“The Obamas, once great allies of Hazza, have apparently shunned him and Meghan. They have chosen their side - they have chosen William and Kate.”

The journalist went on to compliment the former President of the United States and said that he has “aged like a fine wine,” adding, “He held a star-studded sixtieth and Harry and Meghan were noticeable absentees.”

In terms of why the pair were snubbed, Christys suggested it may be because the Obamas “have noticed that the “tide is turning.”

He explained the public do not like to be lectured on climate change “by people who’ve been in more private jets than I’ve had hot dinners.”

Fans flooded to Twitter, and most of them supported Christys' view on Prince Harry and Markle's stance about climate change. “100% agree they are a busted flush. I would be happy if I never get to see or hear from Meghan, Harry, and her loser family ever again," said one user.

One person pointed out how the Sussexes are not the only public figures who are hypocrites when it comes to raising such awareness and said, “All celebs who preach about climate change are hypocrites.”

Another redirected the focus back to the couple and stated, "Their lies, fabrications, and hypocrisy are what they are now famous for - not forgetting their constant PR stunts to keep themselves in the news.

In December 2020, Prince Harry faced backlash again for lecturing on climate change after he suggested that mother nature is fighting back against humanity with COVID-19 during an interview with WaterBear.

WaterBear is a streaming platform dedicated to environmental documentaries. Fox News presenter Susan Li criticized the 36-year-old and noted he was lecturing the world on the importance of sustainability and climate change while sitting in his expensive $14 million home in California.

The Duke and his wife have previously spoken about climate change but have been under heavy scrutiny over the years for using a private jet when traveling.

In June 2019, they took to Instagram and wrote: “With nearly 7.7 billion people inhabiting this Earth, every choice, every footprint, every action makes a difference.”

After that statement, reports revealed that the pair used a private jet to go on holiday to Nice in Southern France. It rubbed people the wrong way because they believe they should not have taken that route because of the damage flying can do to the planet.

Private jets usually carry fewer passengers than commercial airplanes, which means they burn much more fuel per person per hour.

Nonetheless, the controversial subject of climate change is important to Prince Harry, his wife Markle, and Prince William.

Both princes share a joint passion for conservation and the planet. Prince Harry has even shown support for Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, 18.

"The world's children are striking. It's a race against time and one which we are losing – everyone knows it, there's no excuse for not knowing that" he stated.

In September 2019, his brother Prince William helped launch a polar research ship that would spend the next 25 to 30 years studying changes in the oceans, marine life, and climate systems in Antarctica and the Arctic.

The 39-year-old echoed some of his younger sibling’s sentiments and said, “There has never been a more important moment for this ship to get to work.”

Prince William referenced David Attenborough, the famed British historian, and said he has shown how "awe-inspiring the natural world is, and also how fragile and endangered it is." He added that the broadcaster inspired all to do as much as possible to protect the planet.
