JLo's Ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez Opens Up about Their Breakup Saying He Is Grateful for the Five Years They Dated

A few months ago, Alex Rodriguez and his fiancée Jennifer Lopez called it quits. After being together for more than four years, the former athlete revealed how he was moving on.

In a recent interview with “Entertainment Tonight (ET),” Alex Rodriguez, 46, opened up about his life after his relationship with Jennifer Lopez, 52, ended. The couple went their separate ways in April 2021.

At the time, the pair were engaged and had to call off their wedding. The separation surprised their fans as they were set to get married this year after a two-year engagement.

The former baseball player said he was moving on from the heartbreak by focusing on "all the positive" things in his life. Speaking about his failed relationship with Lopez, the athlete explained:

"I had five years of an incredible life and partnership and also with my daughters, we learned so much.”

Rodriguez didn’t seem bitter about the split and is looking forward to what his life still had to present. He said he saw this as an opportunity for him to learn from the past.

The baseball legend also shared how grateful he was for the five years he spent with Lopez. He was now looking forward to how he could make the next five years better based on the lessons he’d already learned.

Showing how he was healing, he confessed that he was in a great place. The ET interview wasn’t the first time the former baseball player addressed how he was doing after the breakup.

On July 27, 2021, Rodriguez’s birthday, the former New York Yankees player shared similar sentiments while celebrating his birthday in St. Tropez. He once again shared his gratitude for the relationship he had with Lopez.

When Rodriguez and Lopez were in a relationship, the retired New York Yankees player and his daughters lived together with the singer’s children. The former athlete shares two children with his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis.

Their daughters are Natasha, 16½, and Ella, 13. He and the “Jenny from the Block” singer successfully blended their families after starting their relationship in 2017.

Lopez and her ex-husband, Marc Anthony, are parents to twins, daughter Emme Maribel and son Maximilian David, both 13. Rodriguez’s interview came days after his ex-fiancée deleted him from her Instagram.

The “Hustlers” actress removed most of her images with her ex-fiancé and stopped following him on the social media platform. She and Rodriguez had announced their engagement in March 2019 and her latest move seems like the final mark of the end of their relationship.
