Michael Douglas Admits Sharing Home with His Ex-Wife Diandra Luker ‘Was Not a Pleasant Thing’
When two people tie the knot, they hope that the marriage will last for eternity, but that is not always the case. It is bad enough getting divorced and even more uncomfortable when you have to share your home with your ex-wife.
Michael Douglas, 76, and his ex-wife Diandra Luker, 65, were 13 years in marriage before they decided to call it quits, and despite separating in 1995, their divorce was not finalized until 2000. For part of this period, they'd have to share their home.
Following their divorce, the 250-acre S'Estaca estate was put on the market in 2014 but did not receive a successful buyer, and the two had to share the space per the divorce agreement.

Douglas and Luker had to spend about six months living together in the house before their divorce was finalized. In 2020, however, the Ant-Man actor took the luxurious property off the market and bought out his ex-wife's share, owning it solely.
The ex-couple shares a son, Cameron, 42, who, like his good old dad, has had his share of troubles, from dealing with addiction to being imprisoned for possession and distribution of heroin.
According to a translation of a Mallorca news outlet, Ultima Hora, Douglas is reported to have said of the time they'd had to live together:
"It was very uncomfortable to share the house of s'Estaca with my ex-wife, Diandra. Six months each was not a pleasant thing for anyone."
And now Douglas is free of his ex-wife and enjoying his space with his current wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and two kids, Carys and Dylan, an arrangement he is finally comfortable with.
Despite Douglas' colorful life, from bagging Oscars to alcohol addiction to battling throat cancer, his only regret in life is not having divorced his ex-wife earlier.
Though he says he will get in trouble for saying it and adds that he has nothing against Luker, he admits that their marriage should have ended a decade earlier than it did, noting that Luker would share his sentiments.
Their last born, Carys, is an actress, a musician, and has an interest in fashion.
Soon after his divorce was finalized, Douglas married his current wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and the two have become one of Hollywood's iconic couples.
Douglas has been a remarkable career in the industry. Still, he says his greatest accomplishment is his little blended family and is ecstatic about seeing his three children follow in his footsteps.
He admits that meeting his wife Catherine was the best part, but it was made even better when she bore him two kids. They share the secret to their long marriage, and as reported by Glamour, they say:
"The constant is love and respect. We've never, ever lost our sense of humor, and we enjoy each other's company."
The couple is looking forward to a life of fulfillment together with their three children. Cameron has since left his drug-rid life behind and has reformed. He is now a father of two and pursuing acting as a career.
Dylan is also an upcoming actor. While he has dyslexia, he has embraced it and even speaks about it to create awareness about the difficulties posed by the language-based learning condition.
Their last born, Carys, is an actress, a musician, and interested in fashion. Despite being just a teen, she's achieved so much, and her parents are incredibly proud of her.
