Doja Cat Bags VMA 2021 Hosting Gig – She Is Nominated for 5 Awards
Hip Hop star Doja Cat has announced that she will be hosting the fast-approaching 2021 VMA global events on social media. Alongside other mainstream stars, the rapper was nominated in five categories.
Music star Doja Cat is bracing herself for her MTV VMA hosting gig. The singer and rapper took to Instagram, where she announced to fans that she would be handling the microphone at the big shot event.
The MTV VMA 2021 hosting gig marks the "Cyber Sex" crooner’s debut as a host for a show. Alongside the amazing milestone, she also bagged multiple nominations.

DOJA CAT’S ANNOUNCEMENT
The star posted an MTV VMA ad announcing her as the 2021 award show host. The clip included a creative image of her gleaned from a photoshoot session. Other details of the event were also included.
While Bieber is nominated in 7 categories, Megan bagged 6. Doja Cat joined the duo in the Artist of the Year category.
The MTV VMA would take place on the 12th of September 2021. The time of event commencement has been slated for 8 pm. Doja Cat excitedly added in her caption:
“I’m hosting the 2021 #VMAs this year Wowowowowowow 🤯 Tune in on 9/12 at 8pm on @mtv.”
Doja Cat added a shocked face with an exploding head emoji to show her feelings. Many Instagram fans joined the “Kiss Me More” crooner in the comment section as they all celebrated her big win.
DETAILS OF THE MTV VMA
Doja Cat’s announcement came a few days after MTV released a list of all the artists that would grace the occasion with their performances. Like Lil Nas X, Olivia Rodrigo, Lorde, Shawn Mendes, Machine Gun Kelly, and Camilla Cabello.
Further information showed that there would be more announcements about performers in the following weeks. MTV set up a 14 gender-neutral category list for the award nominations.
Among these categories, Doja Cat bagged five nominations. Stars like Drake, Billie Eilish, Giveon, BTS, and Lil Nas X were also nominated. Justin Bieber and Megan Thee Stallion, lead with the nominations.
While Bieber is nominated in 7 categories, Megan bagged 6. Doja Cat joined the duo in the Artist of the Year category, and for the first time, the VMAs have added the Global I Award, which would go to classic rock band Foo Fighters.
