Former UFC Champion Tyron Woodley Believes He Beat Jake Paul despite Judges' Decision
Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley was not a happy man following his bout with Jake Paul as he believes he did enough to get the win.
Tyron Woodley and Jake Paul went head-to-head at the soldout Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio, but the YouTuber-turned-boxer ended up being declared the winner.
Paul beat Woodley by split decision, having landed more blows than his opponent, but the 39-year-old was not satisfied and claimed he should have won the match.

NOT FAZED
According to Woodley, he landed the most significant power shots, the ones that actually mattered, and that he brushed off the ones Paul managed to land on him.
Paul is already aiming for new heights, with Conor McGregor being one of his next targets.
He claimed that he had Paul on the ropes "the entire time" and spent most of the fight, which lasted 8 rounds, pressuring the 24-year-old. However, Woodley admitted that he could have done more:
“I could have been more assertive. I was patient. I was seeing my shots, but I didn’t want to be antsy with that overhand right. He may have landed it a few times, but I know he missed a lot.”
THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE
It has been reported that Paul landed a higher percentage of shots, surpassing Woodley in terms of punches, total jabs, and power punches, which ended up earning him a higher score from the judges.
But even though Paul took home the win, increasing his streak as a professional boxer to 4 wins and no losses, Woodley almost knocked him out.

A CLOSE CALL
The highlight of the fight took place during the fourth round when the former UFC athlete clobbered Paul, causing him to land on the ropes. Woodley said:
“I felt like I had him. One time, I almost knocked him through the rope. I really wasn’t [expletive] with that rope. So I hit him, and he bent into the ropes, and I was going to try and knock him through that [expletive]."
During the post-fight press conference, Woodley said that he looked as "pretty" as he did going in and coming out, without a single cut on his face, hinting that Paul never got a good shot on him.
As aforementioned, Paul's record as a boxer has increased and he's already aiming for new heights, with Conor McGregor being one of his next targets.
