Man Allegedly Tries to Donate Bug-Infested Furniture to a Single Mom
Last month a TikToker revealed that someone was trying to donate bug-infested furniture to a woman in need. Thankfully, he stepped in before the items could be taken away to the single mother.
A well-known TikTok account that often posts videos about bug extermination recently showed viewers one of his client's homes. The footage of the bug-infested items was disturbing.
What made it worse was what the owner purportedly planned to do with it. In the clip, the exterminator stated that his client planned to donate all of the bedbug-infested furniture, including a teddy bear, to unknowing and innocent people.

THE CLIENT WOULD NOT LISTEN
Weston Storey, also known as @ExterminatorKing, shared the video, which has since gone viral. He told people who were thinking about taking the furniture to “Throw that [expletive] in the parking lot.”
He also told them they didn't want to have these items in their home. Storey often tells his clients to contact a dumpster service to get rid of infested items. However, according to the TikToker, this time, his client would not listen.

DISTURBING FOOTAGE
Storey stated that his client ignored his advice and decided to donate the furniture so that he could allegedly get a tax deduction. The visuals provided by Storey are not for the faint-hearted.
In the clip, he pans around a few pieces of furniture that clearly show moving bedbugs. He also explains that the white spots are bugs that have shed their shells.

SELLING INFESTED ITEMS
The TikToker is also disturbed because of the smaller spots, which he explains are bedbug eggs. Storey continued to call out his client and expressed that he would talk with whoever was responsible.
In the video, he said: “I’m gonna blast this place on everything. That’s a [expletive] terrible thing to do.” The exterminator spoke with the Daily Dot via email and shared that clients have even attempted to sell infested items in the past.

WARNING THE PUBLIC
Storey sent a message of caution to people who rely on donated goods. He explained that because places can get a tax exemption when they donate, so many do it even when items could be hazardous.
He told people to be wary of the things they pick up from Goodwill and the Salvation Army. Storey stated that many places have stopped collecting furniture because bedbugs have become "a huge problem."

ONLINE REACTION
The footage disturbed many netizens. One user said: "Some people think poor people are not deserving of anything better and should appreciate anything. Thank you for not allowing this."
Another person called the TikToker "the hero we don't deserve." The online community was also stunned that the exterminator only rated the items in the video a 7 out of 10.

EDUCATING PEOPLE
People were appalled just thinking about what a 10 out of 10 would look like. Storey hopes his videos will educate people about bedbugs and just how hazardous and unhygienic they are.
He said: “A lot of people are just really uneducated about bedbugs and assume the issue isn’t that bad. Or they think a can of Raid will fix it.”
