Kourtney Kardashian Makes Travis Barker Feel Invincible – He Is Flying Again
Travis Barker thought he would never get on a plane again after the 2008 accident that almost killed him, but Kourtney Kardashian’s support changed his mind.
Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has lived an extraordinary life. While he is currently one of the most popular and successful drummers globally, his career was almost cut short over a decade ago.
On September 19, 2008, Barker and some friends, including Adam Goldstein (DJ AM), boarded a Learjet to go from Columbia, South Carolina, to Los Angeles.
Unfortunately, the private plane aborted takeoff due to a burst wheel and ended up crashing into a barrier and catching fire, killing everyone but Barker and Goldstein.
Even though Barker made it out alive, 65 percent of his body was burned. The drummer revealed he spent more than 11 weeks between hospitals and burn centers and underwent 27 surgeries.
The incident was also very mentally traumatic as Barker got severely depressed. It wasn’t any easier for Goldstein, who sadly passed away from a drug overdose a year later.
Barker had to learn to take showers on his own and even walk again, but he found solace and motivation during such a dark time in his daughter Alabama and son Landon.
After the accident, he became too afraid to fly and never boarded a plane again. That was until he and his girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian went to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico in August 2021.
Having Kardashian by his side made him feel “invincible.”
The drummer even posted an adorable photo on Instagram kissing Kardashian with a private plane right behind them. He wrote in the caption that with her, “anything” was possible.
Shortly after, Barker opened up on how important his relationship with Kardashian has been to overcome his fear. His businesswoman girlfriend told him she would love to visit different countries with him, so he said he would do everything with her as long as she gave him a 24-hour notice.
The night before going to Mexico, Barker prepared himself by doing some breathwork and going deeper into his subconscious. Luckily, it was the “easiest” fly ever, and he has visited some other countries with Kardashian ever since.
He admitted that although flying again was still something new, having his girlfriend by his side made him feel “invincible.” She has given him the necessary strength and hope to overcome the traumatic event. What a beautiful couple!
