Homeless Woman Gives Last Money to Crying 6-Year-Old Girl, Teaching Her a Valuable Life Lesson
A woman went to McDonald's with her daughter when they encountered the kindness of a stranger. A homeless woman gave her last money to a little girl after something upset her.
A woman from Wirral, England, experienced a moment that changed hers and her daughter's life. The two of them visited a McDonald's store before they headed to the hospital. The little girl needed to visit the facility for her hormone treatment.
Six-year-old Emily was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. According to her mother, Joanne Anderson, the treatment tends to make her "upset." This month, while they were getting a McDonald's breakfast, little Emily burst into tears.

A STRANGER BRIGHTENED THEIR DAY
No one expected that a stranger would brighten their day. Anderson had gone to the counter to place their order. She saw a homeless woman in front of her in the queue. She gave her some loose change to pay for the meal.
The mother indicated that her daughter approached her at the counter. She was crying and very upset, possibly because Anderson had been busy for a while. Fortunately, the kind stranger stepped in and made their day.
THE MOTHER WAS STUNNED
Anderson recalled the special moment: "She gave it to Emily, and she said to her, 'Aw don't be upset, here [are] some pennies for you to go and spend in the shop,' which was just, I don't know how to put it." The mother was stunned and overwhelmed.
The homeless woman gave away the little she had and the mother used this as a life lesson for her daughter. She told Emily to help people when they are upset in school and she encouraged her daughter to "always try and be nice to people."

EATING WITH THE WOMAN
She bought the homeless woman a coke to go along with her meal. Then the three of them sat down at a table, and for 30 minutes, they ate and spoke with the woman. They chatted about Emily and the homeless woman's dreams for her future.
The young woman cleared their table for them when they were done eating. Their paths went separate ways afterward and the mother-daughter duo headed to the hospital for Emily's treatment. But the encounter has stayed with them ever since.

THE ENCOUNTER STAYED WITH THEM
Anderson said: "We've still got the 4p (about $7). Emily won't let me spend it. She still keeps this 4p." The homeless woman's kind gesture changed their day for the better, and it is a memory they won't forget.
The woman's gesture touched netizens, and someone called it a "lovely story." One user also wrote: "I'm a grown man, but this story has literally brought tears to my eyes." Another added that the story showed them that "Kindness is contagious."
