Toddlers Who Bonded While Battling Cancer Are Reunited in a Display of True Love
Two beautiful souls happened to run into each other in the most unlikely of places. Although ill, they danced and played with abandon, showing everyone that sickness doesn't limit one's ability to enjoy their life to the fullest.
Mack Porter is a 3-year-old diagnosed with Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma or ALCL, a type of childhood cancer. Meanwhile, Payson Altice, also 3 years old, fell sick with a different form of pediatric cancer: B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Eventually, their wish came true.
Although the idea of cancer is especially frightening for parents and the kids themselves, these two's childlike radiance shines beyond the darkness of this reality. This is especially so when they are together.

The mother asked the hospital if the two would be allowed to meet, and the rest was history, as Mack and Payson immediately got along. However, when out of the medical center and in remission, they lived far apart and couldn't see one another in person.
Both determined to keep their special friendship going, the duo would communicate via Facetime. It was clear that the soulmates truly wanted to be reunited.
KINDRED SPIRITS MEET AGAIN
Eventually, their wish came true on July 21, 2021, as the two saw each other in person again after two months of being apart. Danielle said that before the playdate, her son spent his time planning out what the two would be doing, keeping in mind what he thought his special companion might enjoy.

TINY ROLE MODELS
Following the beautiful reunion, Danielle commented on witnessing Mack and Payson experiencing a sense of normalcy. With all they've gone through, the mom said that she is just so happy that they simply got to be children on that day.
Tracey, Payson's mother, expressed that these two and kids are great examples of dealing with hardship. The mom said people should look to children to show them how to navigate through difficult times.
The duo is indeed an inspiration for adults and children alike. Through their playfulness and friendship, these show the world that connection to our fellow humans is an authentic and genuinely helpful way to find strength and light through dark periods in our lives.
