More expressions of love flooded Travolta's tribute, along with birthday greetings for Preston, and love and hugs for the actor and his children. It was clear many missed the late star and still shared in her husband's loss.
Like her dad, Ella's fans also sent her messages of love and support.

In her lifetime, Preston shared three children with Travolta, sons Jett and Benjamin and daughter Ella Bleu. Jett, who was autistic, died at 16 in 2009 following a seizure.
Travolta and Preston's only daughter, Ella, also joined her dad in celebrating her late mom's heavenly birthday. She shared a rare snap showing her as a child as she posed with her mom during a wedding ceremony.

Preston died on July 12, 2020, after a two-year battle with breast cancer. Travolta confirmed her death via an Instagram post. He shared a picture of her and captioned it:
"It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer. She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many."

He expressed gratitude to doctors, friends, and loved ones who were by Preston's side and added that her love and life will always be remembered.
Preston's death due to breast cancer was not the first time Travolta lost a loved one to the disease. Decades before her death, the "Grease" star lost his girlfriend Diana Hyland to the same disease in 1977.
Preston's death was difficult for Travolta to handle as he had to take care of their surviving two children.

Travolta was 23 while Hyland was 41 when she died. She had starred in films like "Burke's Law," and "Smoky," and alongside Travolta in "The Boy in the Plastic Bubble."
Travolta revealed Hyland had a mastectomy two years before her death and did not know she would die until two weeks before her demise.
When Hyland's health declined dramatically, he flew home to Los Angeles to be with her and was with her when she breathed her last. He said he felt the breath go out of her and gave her great joys in the last months of her life.

Preston's death was difficult for Travolta to handle as he had to take care of their surviving two children, Ella and Benjamin. While Ella was already 20 at the time of her mom's death, Benjamin was only nine.
Hence, the actor found it hard to talk to his lastborn son about his mom's death. During an appearance on Kevin Hart's talk show, Travolta revealed Benjamin once told him he was scared he (Travolta) would die too because his mom passed away.
Although Preston battled breast cancer in the last two years of her life, she kept her health struggles a secret.

Travolta had to explain to Benjamin that it was different and told him the differences between his longevity and Preston's limited life. He told his son the truth about life, explaining that no one knows when they will die.
He further said Jett died at 16 while Preston died at 57, which were young ages to go. Hence, no one could say when they would die as anyone can go at any time. Travolta advised Benjamin to see it as part of life and do his best at trying to live the longest he can.

Although Preston battled breast cancer in the last two years of her life, she kept her health struggles a secret even while filming her final movie.
Her last role was in the film "Off The Rails," which told the story of a young girl fulfilling her mom's cross-country travel dreams after losing her mom to cancer.

Although the movie echoed Preston's health struggles, no one on the set knew she was battling the deadly disease as she kept it a secret.
Her co-star in the film, Sally Phillips, recalled moments with her on set and said she was so blooming and beautiful. Phillips added that Preston was vibrant, and no one could ever have known she was sick.
Travolta also honored his late wife's last movie role by posting a trailer on Instagram. He revealed she was very proud of the movie and all the wonderful talents she worked with. Ella commented on her dad's post with three red hearts.
Preston spent her final years caring for her husband and their kids, advocating for autistic people in honor of her late son Jett, and acting in several projects. She was also active on social media.
One of Preston's last photos on earth showed her and Travolta smiling while posing for a selfie. The lovebirds had a 28-year love story that ultimately ended after her death.
However, there is no doubt that her memory will live on through Travolta, her family, and those she imparted upon.
