Kelly Clarkson has two beautiful children with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. However, the singer struggled during her pregnancies and had to make a very tough decision going forward.

In 2011, Kelly Clarkson started dating Brandon Blackstock, and the couple's relationship progressed quite quickly. By December the following year, the couple had announced their engagement.

Less than a year later, the "American Idol" alum and Brandon tied the knot. Not long after getting married, the country musician and her manager welcomed their daughter, River, in 2014.

Two years later, the couple was blessed again with another child, this time a son named Remington. However, Clarkson also became a stepmother when she married Brandon.

He had two children, daughter Savannah and son Seth, who he shares with his first ex-wife Melissa Ashworth. Sadly, in June 2020, Clarkson filed for divorce from her husband.

At the time, an Us Weekly source revealed that the couple had clashed a lot after being in quarantine during the coronavirus pandemic. Being around each other that long allegedly made their problems more pronounced, and they couldn't mend their relationship.

KELLY "ON CLOUD 9" OVER KID'S BIRTH

Clarkson became a parent for the first time on June 12, 2014, when River Rose Blackstock was born. The singer was so pleased that she announced the news two days later via her Twitter account.

In her short announcement, "The Kelly Clarkson Show," host revealed that she and her husband were "on cloud 9" at that moment. The star shared that she was pregnant through Twitter in November 2013, just before the holidays.

She said she and Brandon were excited and celebrated their early Christmas present. Clarkson debuted her growing baby bump in April 2014 while out with her husband for a family day.

Brandon and his wife became parents for the second time on April 12, 2016, when their son, Remington Alexander Blackstock, was born. Clarkson shared the tiny newborn's first photo via Instagram on April 24, 2016.

The little boy's father held up his head in the black-and-white image as he cradled him in his arms. Little Remington looked like he was smiling as his mother warned women to watch out for his charm.

The television personality had revealed that she was pregnant for a second time during the previous summer. During a concert, she made the announcement while singing a rendition of "Piece by Piece."

DEALING WITH "ALL-DAY SICKNESS"

As much as Clarkson was elated with having her children, her pregnancy journeys weren't easy for the singer. In 2015, she was interviewed about her experiences on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show.

The vocalist confessed that she'd had challenging pregnancies while carrying her children. She revealed that things got so bad for her that she had to be admitted to a hospital and take longer time off because of how "horrible" the pregnancy was.

In November, a few months later, Clarkson told "CBS This Morning" that she'd suffered from all-day sickness instead of just morning sickness when she was pregnant with her son.

The star said she'd vomited around a dozen times daily and had to be put on IVs and fluids because of how dehydrated she got. Her second pregnancy was way more complicated than the one with River.

THE VOCAL SCARE

In February 2015, the singer confessed that she lost her voice shortly after giving birth to her daughter. The star panicked when she thought her voice was gone for good!

She recalled a moment where she drank wine and cried all day about it. Clarkson even prayed to ask God if she wasn't going to be a singer anymore and bawled her eyes out to her husband.

She thought her career was over and contemplated what she would do with her life going forward. The songstress recalled how she figured she could do more charity work to fill her time.

DONE HAVING CHILDREN

In March 2016, while being interviewed on Australia's KIIS FM, the singer said she was done giving birth after her second child was born. She said she couldn't be pregnant again and that they were good, stating:

“It's just, like, my body was not made to be pregnant.”

In 2017, the "Love So Soft" singer shared with People that she had just prayed for them when she saw someone else pregnant. Her feelings were based on her own challenging experiences, which she described as "literally the worst moments of my life."

Clarkson didn't even miss being pregnant and hoped other women had good memories of their own experiences. Whenever she heard someone was pregnant, she worried for them.

While on "The View" that same year, the country musician, once again, admitted that she wasn't a fan of being pregnant. She adamantly revealed that "[She] would never, ever do it again."

The star said her sister, who had a smooth pregnancy, even offered to be Clarkson's surrogate if she wanted another child. However, the musician told her she and her husband were set with a family of four.

During a SiriusXM Entertainment podcast interview with Jenny McCarthy, Clarkson said she'd gotten her tubes tied and got Brandon to have a vasectomy to prevent them from having more children after Remington's birth.

The "Magical Lullaby" author joked that if she and her husband got pregnant again, it would be a miracle from God. She even jokingly threatened her doctor that she would hunt him down if she did get pregnant!

Clarkson also hilariously shared that she reminded her children daily of her sacrifices for them to be born. She explained that she had her son because she didn't want River to be an only child without someone in her age group to play with.

KELLY'S JOY AND HAPPINESS

Clarkson didn't regret having her two precious children despite all the hardships she faced with her pregnancies. The duo is her life's joy and happiness, and she never misses an opportunity to praise them.

In the past, she's shown off little River by having her appear in music videos for her songs "Broken & Beautiful" and "Piece by Piece." During People's 2018 "Beautiful Issue," Clarkson referred to her daughter as "bold" and "progressive."

She anticipated that River would run a company one day because she was pretty sure of herself. In turn, the singer labeled Remington as a "sensitive soul" but noted that he also had an adventurous side.

Clarkson also thought he would grow up to be an athlete because he was like the cartoon character, the Tasmanian Devil, and was always looking for something to knock over and destroy.
