'1883' Star Eric Nelsen Has Been Happily Married for 8 Years and Recently Became Father of a Little 'Cowboy'
Eric Nelsen is famous for his appearance in "The Good Mother," his recurring role on "The Blacklist," and for playing Brett Sampson in the original Broadway production of "13." Away from film, he is a husband and a father.
Nelsen married the "Gabby's Dollhouse" actress Sainty Nelsen, in Texas, in November 2013. Eight years after they tied the knot, the couple appears to still be in love.
From their Instagram accounts, the two often gush over their love for each other, and to celebrate their eighth anniversary, they both posted emotional tributes, celebrating their journey together.

Sainty referred to Nelsen as her best friend and teammate for life, while Nelsen thanked Sainty for holding him down and for being a great mom, wife, and life partner.
DOTING PARENTS TO A COWBOY
Nelsen and Sainty are parents to two. They welcomed their first child, daughter Molly Morgan Nelsen, in 2019, and a son named Mick four months ago.
For Mick's fourth-month milestone celebration, Sainty referred to the little boy as a cowboy, alluding to his father's role in "1883." The little boy looked cozy as he rocked a cowboy outfit and smiled at the camera.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Besides doting on their two kids, the couple has also accomplished much in their respective careers. Nelsen has won a Tony and four Daytime Emmy Awards, while his wife holds three Daytime Emmy Awards.
But despite accomplishing so much individually, the duo has also achieved a lot together. The pair have worked together on several projects, including co-producing the hit Broadway play "The Inheritance."
The play won four Tony Awards out of 11 nominations. And Nelsen was ecstatic about the achievement as he disclosed it was something he had manifested for as long as he could remember.
"To have it coming to fruition is a true testament to faith, determination, and hard work. I am beyond grateful for the Broadway community and my Inheritance family. I am truly overwhelmed with emotions," Eric Nelsen exclaimed.
PLAYING ENNIS ON "1883"
Besides producing hit Broadway shows, Nelsen has also acted in the drama series "1883," where he played Ennis, a young and handsome wrangler who agrees to help a group of women, children, and men find a home up North.
Throughout the journey, he courts Elsa Dutton, who he is smitten with because of her free spirit and beauty. Eventually, they get engaged. Dutton's father is angry since he does not believe Ennis can love Dutton as much as she loves him.
To prove his allegiance to his fiancée, he rides to the battle frontline when the bandits attack next, but one bandit shoots him in the chest, and he dies. Dutton's father finally admits he believes that his love for Dutton was real.
His role in "1883" required Nelsen to have good cowboy skills, and despite growing up around horses, he had never ridden in the intensity and capacity that the film needed of him. He told People:
"So I think [the show] brought my level of cowboy from five to about a 20."
The actor got to play alongside other big names in the industry, including Audie Rick, Marc Rissmann, LaMonica Garrett, Isabell May, Tim McGraw, and Sam Elliott.
