On February 4, 2019, Andy welcomed his first child, Benjamin Allen, via a surrogate. In his post announcing the arrival of his son, he said:

"I'm in love. And speechless. And eternally grateful to an incredible surrogate. And I'm a dad. Wow."

The excited dad named his son after his grandfather, Ben Allen. Before the arrival of his son, Andy revealed that family meant everything to him, and he was glad to look forward to that chapter of his life.

INSIDE ANDY'S DECISION TO BECOME A SINGLE PARENT

Being a lover of family life, Andy did not want to wait any longer to become a dad. He said:

"It's not something in your mind — 'Oh, I want to do this alone.' But I like being alone. I didn't want to wait. To me, it would have to be a very special person to say, ‘Let's do this together.’"

Even though he would have loved to start his family with that special person in his life, he did not have that, and he was okay with being a single parent.

However, he revealed that he has a lot of support from some of the women in his life as they help him take care of his son, whom he said "makes it really easy" to be a single parent.

Andy said Ben is a cheerful kid who makes parenting fun as he gets to learn every day. Despite welcoming his son later in life, the host tries to be as laid back as possible.

Andy wants his son to know he is around and that he is always going to be around, even though having a lot of jobs makes it difficult for him to achieve that.

However, he tries to be in and out of his home all day. His son gets to see him throughout the day, which he finds excellent. Also, he does not leave for his show until past his son's bedtime.

HOW DATING HAS CHANGED ANDY COHEN SINCE BECOMING A DAD

Since becoming a dad, Andy revealed that the dating world has been different. He said it had changed a lot, and it had become harder.

The host believes that there is now a high bar, and it is challenging for him to find someone who fits the bill. His approach to dating changed, and he knows that it is okay to be single.

He admitted that he was a lot to handle when he was not a parent, and now meeting people is heavy on his mind. He knows that anyone dating him would also have to consider his children, which he feels is a lot.

Andy had dated Clifton Dassuncao, an Epidemiologist with a Master's and Ph.D. from Harvard University. The duo started dating in 2016 while Andy was on tour with CNN's Anderson Cooper.

Dassuncao and Andy never confirmed their relationship to the public but vacationed together in St. Bart's. In his memoir "Superficial: More Adventures From the Andy Cohen Diaries," Andy mentioned Dassuncao.

In 2018, Andy confirmed they had ended their relationship when he admitted to being single. He also revealed that he was looking to date someone who was independent and already had something for themselves.

After his relationship with Dassuncao ended, he was reported to have dated John Hill, famous for his Broadway musical appearances.

Their relationship ended in 2020, but they remained good friends as Hill also produces "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen."

In addition, Andy's close relationship with Cooper has made fans wonder if they were a couple, but they have always responded that they were best friends.

Cooper and Andy met in the 1990s after being set up on a blind date by their mutual friend. Cooper knew that he would not date Andy after Andy asked him about his mother, Gloria Vanderbilt, as this violated Cooper's cardinal rule.

The duo became best friends, and their relationship blossomed through the years. They currently hang out with their kids almost every weekend.
