Worthington's hero character portrayed love amid the strife between his people and his love interest's clan. However, his love story with his wife, Lara Worthington, channels a different plot in real life.

Despite being a spotlight couple, Sam and Lara Worthington live a private life. The pair had a private wedding in 2014, and it was not until months later that Lara decided to share some of the details.

In an interview with Kyle and Jackie O on KIIS 1065, Lara made it known that their wedding had been a "very intimate" affair. She recalled their big day:

"We just popped into Melbourne where Sam's family's from, and we had less than 10 people."

The lovebirds rented a house in the city Down Under, wrote their own vows, and said them in front of their close-knit family members.

Lara explained that she was in London before the wedding and found a Louis Vuitton dress for the wedding.

Lara, who had been six months pregnant at the time of the nuptials, prepared the wedding meals with her mother. She described the wedding as "super chill."
