How Did Liv Tyler Find Out Steven Tyler Is Her Father? The Actress Did Not Know until She Was 11

Liv Tyler did not know that her father was the Aerosmith frontman, Steven Tyler until she was 11. The revelation happened while she attended the band's concert with her mom.

Aerosmith recently announced the cancellation of their Las Vegas residency for June and July after their frontman, Steven Tyler, had a health emergency.

Steven relapsed into his addiction to painkillers following foot surgery and decided to seek treatment for his recovery. The band released a statement through social media, noting that fans who purchased tickets may claim a full refund.

"As many of you know, our beloved brother Steven has worked on his sobriety for many years," they wrote. Steven previously had stints in rehab to address his addiction.

Aerosmith is expected to resume their show on September 4 in Bangor, Maine, if Steven has recovered.

Apart from his career, Steven is also a loving father to kids from different partners. His most famous daughter is actress Liv Tyler, who did not know her father until age 11.

WHO IS LIV TYLER'S MOTHER?

Liv's mother, Beverle "Bebe" Buell, was known to artists in the 70s, and linked to several music icons, including Elvis Costello, Iggy Pop, David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Rod Stewart, and Steven.

She saw her half-sister, Mia, on the side of the stage and realized they looked like twins.

She became Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month in 1974 and formed a band, the Bebe Buell Band, fulfilling her long dream of becoming a musician.

HOW DID LIV TYLER FIND OUT WHO HER FATHER WAS?

In 1976, Buell went to Europe with Steven, her partner at that time, and conceived Liv. She claimed that she and the singer had something like an "animal attraction." Buell added:

“I guess we were meant to have a child together.”

By the time Liv was born, Buell had realized that Steven was not yet ready to become a father, given his addiction. She instead went with Todd Rundgren, who stood as Liv's father.

It wasn't until Liv was 11 that they attended an Aerosmith concert, revealing the truth. She saw her half-sister, Mia, on the side of the stage and realized they looked like twins. Liv narrated:

“She looked exactly like me. Then I looked at my mom, and she had tears in her eyes, and I kind of put it all together.”

Liv and Steven were never really close, given they both had their own lives. "He has been going through a lot of things on his own," she said. "He hasn't been around that much for us. So that's been hard."
