Why Did Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield Reportedly Break Up?

Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield appeared to be the perfect couple, with their chemistry emanating from the screen. Why, then, would such an ideal match reportedly break ties?

Recently, Garfield and Zendaya gave a joint interview after starring together in "Spider-Man: No Way Home." The superhero complimented his co-star on her acting performance in the series "Euphoria," referring to it as remarkable.

She returned the favor, asking him how he managed to find such nuance in his accent while filming the show, "Under the Banner of Heaven," claiming she had never been able to do that.

The actors continued talking about their shared careers in the arts, with Zendaya questioning the importance of onscreen performance. She expressed:

"I have the coolest job. I love my job so much. But sometimes you’re just like — I dress up for a living, and I don’t want to take myself too seriously because I feel like there’s people who do far more important things than we do."

Garfield then quipped about his brother being a lung doctor, saying he could only pretend to be one. But, Zendaya said, performing can be a force through which some people heal.

WERE EMMA STONE AND ANDREW GARFIELD TOGETHER?

Zendaya, of course, is not the only gorgeous woman Garfield has played alongside in a Spider-Man film. The endearing Emma Stone played his love interest Gwen Stacy in "The Amazing Spider-Man" and "The Amazing Spider-Man 2", where the character met her sudden death.

But, the two's romance may not have ended onscreen as they became closer while filming the superhero show in 2010.

The chemistry didn't go unnoticed -- between 2011 and 2012, whispers of the two being a possible item were everywhere. This was until they reportedly went their separate ways in 2015, with both of them remaining quiet on the subject. An insider said:

"They still have a lot of love for one another and they are on good terms with each other and remain close. It just wasn't working."

Since then, there has still been some speculation that the two aren't over: they looked cozy with one another at the February 2017 BAFTA Awards. Page Six also claimed, in May 2018, that they were seen in New York together, acting very much like a couple.

IS ANDREW GARFIELD DATING ANYONE?

Although everyone would love a romantic reunion between their favorite pair, the "Never Let Me Go" actor could be dating model Alyssa Miller.

The two were seen side by side in November 2021 in New York City. Right before Valentine's Day in February 2022, they were also spotted hand in hand in Malibu, California, after a tennis date.

Other than Miller, Since Garfield and Stone went their separate ways, he has been linked with other women such as Susie Abromeit, Rita Ora, and Aisling Bea.
