WHO IS TOM BRADY'S FATHER?

Brady Sr. is famously known as the father of one of the most accomplished athletes in sports history, and he is also his son's greatest supporter. He was born on May 6, 1944, in San Francisco, California, USA.

The proud father graduated from the University of San Francisco and founded Thomas Brady & Associates insurance firm in San Mateo, California.

The firm, which has been in operation for more than four decades, specializes in estate planning, business planning, insurance review, and placement for successful individuals and businesses.

TOM BRADY SR.'S WIFE

Tom Brady Sr. has been married to Galynn Patricia Brady, 76, for several decades. She was born in Browerville, Minnesota, but she met him in California.

At the time, Brady Sr. was working hard to scale his insurance firm, and Galynn had been a flight attendant. The pair got married on April 19, 1969, and welcomed four kids together, including Julie, Maureen, Nancy, and Tom Brady Jr.

Tom Jr. had an excellent experience with his New England career but was also happy that he had moved on because it was clear that the Patriots were ready to get going.

The adorable couple enjoyed raising their kids and still live in the same house all four grew up in, even though they can afford more expensive and stylish houses. It is located in San Mateo, California.

Brady Sr. and his wife have always supported their son. According to reports, neither of them had ever missed his games except when they were battling the COVID-19 virus that left them very sick in 2020.

The pair fell ill just as Brady Jr. started a new season with his new NFL team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brady Sr. had to be hospitalized, but his wife was allowed to remain home since hers was not as severe.

Their sickness stopped them from being there to support him for his first two games that season, but before that, they had never missed one regardless of where it was being played. Brady Sr. said about the incident:

"For the first two games when I was in the hospital, I didn't even care if they were playing - much less missing the game. It was a matter of life and death, just like anybody who goes to the hospital. That's serious stuff."

TOM BRADY SR.'S CHILDREN

Of course, we all know who Tom Brady Sr.'s famous son is — player Tom Brady. He was born on August 3, 1977, in San Mateo, California, and was enrolled in Junipero Serra High School.

He attended the University of Michigan between 1995 and 1999, during which he started playing football. In the years that followed, he devoted most of his time and talent to playing the game, which paved the way for his legacy.

He had great poise and a penchant for keeping a cool head while maintaining precision during big games, and it quickly made him a fan favorite. Maureen, the oldest of the bunch, was a good athlete and was once a softball pitcher at Fresno State in the 1990s. After she graduated, she became a nurse and now works at a local hospital in Bakersfield, California.

Nancy lives a more private life, but she was also a good athlete as a teenager. She now works as a Public Technical Advisor with a degree from Boston University.

Julie, the closest in age to Tom Jr., is often called his twin even though she is three years older than he is. It is because they share the same birthday, August 3; however, he was born in 1977 and Julie in 1974. She also keeps a low profile, but in 2012, she married former Boston Sox player Kevin Youkilis.

INSIDE TOM BRADY'S RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS DAD

Tom Brady Jr. is a proud son who shares a close bond with his father, Tom Brady Sr. Brady Sr.'s impact on Tom's life and career has been outstanding. The patriarch of the Brady family explained that Tom was so competitive because of him. Everything was a competition, including running home from church or throwing rocks the farthest.

Tom and his dad's close bond has remained over the years, and the future Hall-of-Famer praises Brady Sr. whenever he has the chance. In one episode of "Man in the Arena," Tom said:

"When I think about being a dad, I think [of Brady Sr.] because of what my dad meant to me. I know I'm not as good a dad to my kids that [sic] my dad's been to me."

Tom Jr. has been vocal about the benefits of having someone like Brady Sr. as a father. He once confessed that he used Brady Sr. as his example of how to not only keep a family together but also care, support, and love them.

In an Instagram post he shared three weeks ago to celebrate father's day, the talented quarterback shared a selfie he took with him at a golf court. In the caption, he tagged Brady Sr., his "hero and the most loving and kind father in the world," before declaring love for him on behalf of the rest of their family.

Tom Jr. and his wife are parents of Benjamin, 12, and Vivian, 9. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback also has a 14-year-old boy named Jack with his former girlfriend, Bridget Moynahan.

On the values he wants to see manifested in his children, Tom Jr. said he would like them to be respectful and kind. He also expressed hope that they would find something they love to do even though he has also "taken things to an extreme."

Even though Tom Jr. is now a man of his own, his father, who doubles as his biggest fan, continues to keep a close eye on his football career and has been known to comment on it.

Towards the end of 2021, Brady Sr. revealed in NBC's Tom Curran's "Patriots Talk" podcast that his son's move to the Buccaneers was the right choice. He said the Patriots coach, Bill Belichick, wanted Tom "out the door," but he threw over 50 touchdowns and won the Super Bowl in his first year with the Buccaneers.

Tom Brady Jr. stunned his fans in March 2020 when he announced his exit from the English Patriots after helping them bag six Super Bowl titles in nine championships and playing for Belichick for two decades.

That same month, he joined the Buccaneers on a two-year contract ahead of the 2020 season, and in his first year as quarterback, he won them the Super Bowl again.

Brady Sr. also confessed that his son would experience nostalgia every time he had to return for a game at Boston which was his home for 20 years. He said they owed a lot to the place but admitted that his son's move could not be avoided.

The proud father likened it to kids moving out of their parent's homes and stated that regardless of where they went, they would always have support from their family.
