Bruce Willis' Wife Develops Health Struggles after 'Putting Family Needs' 1ST amid His Brain Disease Fight
Bruce Willis' family is currently going through difficult times due to his health complications. In the previous months, the actor has had to quit his career and remain in the care of his loving wife, Emma Heming.
Action movie icon Bruce Willis' love life played out in the public eye right from when he married fellow star, Demi Moore. The duo was together for 13 years before Moore filed for divorce in 2000.
This left Bruce heartbroken and unsure if he would walk the path of love again. However, all that changed when he met model Emma Heming. They struck it off right from the start despite their 23-year age difference.

By 2009, Bruce and Heming walked down the aisle in a civil ceremony in Beverly Hills. Fast forward to the present, and they are parents to two little girls, Mabel Ray and Evelyn Penn.
Bruce has three grown-up daughters; Tallulah, Rumer, and Scout, from his marriage with Moore. The star once said he was a proud girl dad and would not have it any other way.
During his wedding to Heming, Bruce organized a star-studded event, and his ex-wife was in attendance with her then-husband, Ashton Kutcher.
Once in an interview, Heming spoke about her early motherhood years, noting that it had been at a time when her spouse needed to be away.
Bruce had signed on for three movies and, together with his new family, moved around each location. She described it as something that went by fast and proved she didn't need to sweat the small stuff.
INSIDE BRUCE AND HEMING'S HAPPY MARRIAGE
Bruce's marriage to Heming has made him a proud husband and father. He and his wife often document their picture-perfect family on social media. In 2019, the duo celebrated ten years of their union.
The celebrity couple renewed their vows. Heming shared some posts from their jolly vow renewal on Instagram. In one of the posts, she and Bruce were locked in a searing kiss while she sported a white bouquet in one hand.
In an interview, Heming stated that she and the "Die Hard" actor had so much respect for each other, which helped build the foundation of their love.
Earlier in 2022, Bruce made it to the news over concerns about his health. The actor reportedly had prolonged issues remembering his lines and also suffered cognitive problems.
Willis, who took up more projects on movies, had glaring health complications, and the production team was aware. However, they mostly tried to work around his cognitive problems by drastically reducing his screen time and getting him a body double.
Insiders revealed that one production crew tried to make the movies close to his home to create ease for him at one point. However, it became clear that Bruce could no longer handle the technicalities of acting.
In March of 2022, his family took to social media to announce that the actor would have to withdraw from his career to concentrate on getting better. The family penned an emotional address to the star's fans, stating:
"To Bruce's amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities."
Aphasia is a medical condition that can impact the ability to speak, write and understand language. It usually results from head injuries or a stroke. The primary treatment for the ailment is speech and language therapy.
HEMING BECAME BRUCE'S CAREGIVER
Following Bruce's diagnosis and withdrawal from the spotlight, Heming launched into her full family woman mode, taking care of her husband and keeping her home sane.
A source revealed to People that Heming was trying her best to keep it all together. She tried to come to terms with her husband's state of health while catering to their young daughters.
However, the source stated that it had been hard for the mom-of-two to see her beloved spouse decline in such a manner. Nonetheless, she busied herself with getting professionals and the best doctors to work with Bruce.

On Father's Day, Heming gushed over her spouse in a heart-melting family post. She added that the pair posed in a playful mood with their two young daughters in the snapshot. In her caption, she described him as a "fun, loving, generous, big-hearted dad."
Heming's admiration for Bruce is not hard to decipher. In one of her June posts, the star shared an old-time clip of her spouse taking the lead while singing with The Temptations. She heartily praised him for his boldness, noting it was one of the reasons she fell in love with him.
HEMING'S HEALTH HAS BEEN AFFECTED
In May 2022, Heming sat in an interview with The Bump, where she opened up on how she navigates family life. The star shared that it has been challenging keeping up with self-care. She shared:
"I put my family's needs above my own, which I found does not make me any kind of hero. That amount of care for everyone else within my household had taken a toll on my mental health and overall health."
She explained that after a moment of self-reflection, she realized she had not been caring for herself adequately. Although she still isn't doing much, Heming made it compulsory to look after herself at the basic level.
This includes engaging in exercise to disconnect from her worries. The star made it known that she loved her family and had always wanted to have one. She stated that her daughters brought so much joy and laughter into their home.
Heming included that her family's values were entrenched in making memories together. They spend a lot of time with each other, and that's something precious to her.
