Harry Was Convinced He Would Be 'Single for the Rest of His Life' after Split with Woman He 'Admires,' Book Says
Before his royal wedding to Duchess Meghan Markle, Prince Harry had a tumultuous love life. At one point, he lost all hope of finding the one. However, he has finally settled down with the love of his life.
When Princess Diana of Wales passed on, her second son, Harry, was too young to process many of his feelings. As he grew older, those feelings became volatile, and he often engaged in brawls.
Things worsened at his alma mater, Eton College, where Harry was said to experience some academic difficulties. As a teenager, Harry got into fights that turned physical.

According to royal author Tina Brown, the young Prince Harry once got into a fight and kicked a window in. After that, he ended up on crutches. In his early adulthood years, Harry indulged in alcohol, and he "temperamentally" became "a human IED."
Following his high school education, the Duke of Sussex spent a gap year in Australia and South Africa. After some self-reflection, Harry enrolled at the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst in 2005.
Brown shared that almost everyone around Harry believed the army "saved Harry from going off the rails." But not for long, because after Harry left the army, he started "acting belligerent, carousing all night and unhappy with his royal duties."
HOW HARRY MET HIS "PERFECT PARTNER"
In May 2015, Harry became acquainted with actress and model Cressida Bonas. He had met her through one of his favorite cousins, Princess Eugenie. Brown described her as:
"a beauty but not a preening one, with a burgeoning career as an actress."
She further stated that Harry's family and friends were convinced among themselves that Bonas was the ideal partner for him. Brown penned:
"There was a general agreement that Ms. Bonas had all the makings of a perfect partner for Harry, who was madly in love with her."
Despite what seemed to be a perfect pairing, Bonas was reportedly wary of the Prince's volatile temper. Brown shared an instance during a past New Year's Day celebration when Harry and Bonas were at a pub.
During the outing, an older man walked up to them, asking for a photo for his ailing wife. While Bonas was going to give consent, Harry reportedly barked and asked the man to leave. Browns shared:
"Without his army mates to cut him down to size, his sense of entitlement was out of control. His outbursts were ever more frequent and childlike."

Harry would admit years later that he took up boxing because he was usually on the verge of punching someone. His strained relationship with Prince Charles also did not help matters.
Brown wrote that it was Bonas who eventually convinced Harry to get help. She was said to be seriously worried about his mental health. Their relationship lasted for two years, and although those around them had high hopes about where it was headed, Bonas was done.
She broke up their relationship after two years, which affected Prince Harry. According to the BBC, Bonas wanted to focus on her career, and there were speculations that the media scrutiny played a part. The book shared that after the break-up:
"[Harry penned] a sweet letter saying I admire you, I wish you well, and above all thank you for helping me to address my demons and seek help."
More reports on the end of their relationship showed that Bonas' feathers were ruffled by Prince William and Kate Middleton's first royal tour with their first child, Prince George. It was described as a wake-up call for the actress.
Harry was reportedly convinced he would be single for the rest of his life. He tried to persuade her, but Bonas' mind was made up. He had earlier experienced something similar with his first love, Chelsy Davy.
Brown shared about the Prince's heartbreak: "Harry suffered a real blow when she said, 'I can't do this.' I think she really broke his heart twice. [Harry] had been left heartbroken because the women he had fallen in love with didn't want to share the life he had been born into."

Harry's ill luck in relationships was constantly in the news until he met Meghan Markle in 2016. The couple met at London's Soho Club. When they met, Harry, who was 31, was lonely and ready to start a family.
It was alleged that weeks before he met Markle, the Prince was spotted dancing with a pair of brunettes and downing shots at Jak's Bar in West London.
On her own, Markle was fresh off her fame on "Suits," and her relationship with former boyfriend, Cory Vitello, did not seem to be heading towards marriage.
She and Harry clicked from the start, and the pair appeared to be serious after two dates. The Prince was said to have asked her for a trip to Botswana, to which she agreed.
While Harry returned from Africa feeling in love, William was skeptical about it all. Brown stated the reason for the older Prince's skepticism:
"Every time his brother fell in love, it was an eruption of Vesuvius."

It was shared that Prince Charles liked Meghan from the get-go, which boiled down to how they bonded over delicacies. As William's worries grew, he reportedly told their father:
"Within months of Harry's involvement with Meghan, he reportedly told his father that his younger brother's obsession with her was 'like something I have never seen.'"

Despite the drama of Harry and Meghan's fast romance, the couple tied the knot in 2018 and have since welcomed two children, Lilibet and Archie. Harry and Meghan live in the high-brow area of Montecito, California, and according to new reports, their kids are making new friends.
Harry and Meghan have settled into their new life in the United States following their exit from the British royal house. The couple also has celebrity pals, including Orlando Bloom, Katy Perry, Oprah Winfrey, Tom Holland, and Zendaya.
