It's official: Kimberly J. Brown and Daniel Kountz are getting married. The two recently got engaged to the applause of their Instagram followers, where they announced their engagement on their respective accounts.

Kountz shared a quick clip on his account filled with many photos of the couple and a caption that read: "She said yes‼️❤️ 💍Gunna love you forever @officialkjb [sic]." His fiancé replied in the comment section where she expressed her love for him.

Long before this proposal, the duo met when they co-starred in 2001's "Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge." Their characters' love story did not have a happy ending, but luckily for Brown and Kountz, life did not imitate art.

THEIR UNREMARKABLE FIRST MEETING

With all the chemistry between the two, it would surprise many to find out that when they first met at a rehearsal in Vancouver for this fantasy film, sparks did not fly. As Brown said in a TikTok clip:

"We had no romantic feelings at all for each other while we were working together."

At the time, Kountz was 22 years old and had a girlfriend, while his co-star was 17 years old. The actor remembered that he thought his co-worker was professional and pleasant, so it was only much later that his impression of her significantly changed.

BROWN AND KOUNTZ'S RECONNECTION

In May 2016, the two actors reconnected to do some improvisation comedy sketches together, but this time Kountz's response to seeing his old colleague was utterly different. He remembered:

"When I first saw her, when she walked in after we hadn't seen each other forever, there was a definite shift and 'Oh, you've grown up. Like, oh okay, you're wearing heels, wow, look at that. You're like a pretty lady.'"

The two instantly felt connected and familiar with one another but also knew very little about the other person. So, Brown said they had to, in a sense, reintroduce themselves and learn more about each other.

The newly-acquainted friends worked again in 2017 as an onscreen couple in a State Farm parody. Finally, they appeared together on social media in October 2017 in a post that had nothing to do with work. Instead, it was Brown wishing Kountz a Happy Birthday on Instagram, where she referred to him as "handsome."

Some of her followers are... concerned about their romance.

The two continued to share pictures of themselves from October 2017 into 2018. This slew of snaps included a photo of Brown taking Kountz to a wedding, enjoying a weekend together in Northern California's wine country, and celebrating Thanksgiving with one another's friends and families.

Rumors were rampant as the couple released picture after picture. Finally, one post in July 2018 confirmed all suspicions as they shared a photo of them kissing. The duo is not shy about their relationship. They regularly post their pictures together online, feeding their fans' curiosity. Speaking about their fans' intense interest in their romance, Brown said:

“There’s a fine line with being in the public eye and the media and my personal life, but it’s been pretty funny to watch the fans’ responses.”

Brown giggled over that some of her followers are seemingly concerned about their romance, anxious that it will echo the negative connection between her character and Kountz's that they had in their Halloweentown II movie. However, whatever fears may be present, the couple appears happy together.

THE COUPLE SEEM VERY HAPPY TOGETHER

Brown and Kountz's Instagram posts make it clear that they are smitten. In one adorable post, Brown wished her partner a Happy Birthday, writing:

"@danielkountz is celebrating a birthday today, so I in turn am celebrating him and his huge heart. The depth of his care, support, and love knows no bounds. He listens patiently, makes me laugh hysterically, holds space for me constantly, and is my favorite part of coming home every day. Happy Birthday, baby, I love you endlessly ❤️🎂[ sic]."

In another excited Instagram post, Brown shared a clip that outlined their love story. The couple stood with broad smiles in the video, and joyful music played in the background.

Beyond engagement and their upcoming wedding, many fans continue to ask if they have kids, and the answer is no. But, in 2019, according to Brown, she did say their "plans are teetering on the edge." Of course, these possible babies and the engagement would not have been viable if it weren't for their initial meeting on "Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge.," Kountz's said:

"If it wasn't for the movie we never would have met each other and reconnected later and we wouldn't be sitting here now and she's a pretty awesome lady. It just ended up working out really well, but it is funny to think, wow, that was 20 years ago and so much life happened in between us reconnecting and everything."

Regarding their careers, in 2021, Kountz revealed that he was now a realtor after acting in "Youthful Daze" and making appearances in shows such as the Jon Hamm classic "Mad Men." Meanwhile, his fiancé began acting in "General Hospital as Nurse Chloe, a villainous character.

Although she is now all grown up, Brown still keeps a framed letter from her onscreen grandmother Debbie Reynolds who acted alongside her in "Halloweentown," -- the actress expressed she would be eager to take back her role in the franchise. Speaking about the late Reynolds, she said:

"[I] tried to soak up as much time with her as I could because she became another grandmother to me. So much of their relationship on screen mirrored what our relationship was in real life, so I’m grateful for that time I got with her.”

Beyond working alongside big names and meeting one another, "Halloweentown" continued to change the couples' lives in many ways. The film developed into a cult classic, and while he is retired, fans continue to recognize and point out Kountz's connection to the Disney movie.

Of course, the fact that Brown and Kountz met while co-starring is a beautiful yet ironic fantasy-meets-reality relationship for the fans. Some say they could already feel the chemistry since the movie. In their first interview as a couple, Brown said:

"It's been pretty fun getting to watch the fans' reactions to it over the years. It cracks us up."

The actress had no idea how tremendous the response from their fans would be when she posted the picture of them kissing. Their recent proposal also caused a stir online, with a Twitter frenzy erupting over the newly-engaged couple.
