Widely known for playing Darla Marks in the cult classic "Dazed and Confused," Parker Posey has always been synonymous with independent films. She has collected many awards and a string of lovers throughout her years of performing.

Parker Posey is one of the most iconic actresses of the 1990s. Named "Queen of the Indies" by Time Magazine, she had acted in over a dozen American independent films by 28 years old.

"Doom Generation" and "The Daytrippers" are just two of the many indie films she has acted in throughout her successful career. But rather than referring to herself as a Queen, the actress prefers to go by the moniker "the indie tramp."

Speaking about her experience with big-budget Hollywood movies, this indie royalty claimed she gets typecast in a stereotypical romantic role. She stated:

"I'm the character actor in Hollywood movies, the girl who has to be annoying so the guy can go to the other girl."

However, in reality, her love life doesn't reflect this sore narrative. Her famous ex-boyfriends undoubtedly only had eyes for her during their relationships, except for one.

PARKER POSEY'S DATING HISTORY

In 2004, Posey and Keanu Reeves met when she stirred up a conversation with him over a part in a silent action-adventure movie.

Four years later, it was reported that Reeves and Posey were dating after they were seen together at Los Angeles's Chateau Marmont. A source who spotted the duo described them as "probably the oddest couple I've ever seen!"

Posey also had a short-term romance with Dublin native Stuart Townsend when he had just begun his acting career, having done a few indie films then. He remembered their brief affair: "Our chemistry was very fiery."

IS PARKER POSEY MARRIED, AND DOES SHE HAVE KIDS?

Posey tends to keep her personal life private, and so it is unknown whether she is married or dating anyone at the moment. There are rumors, however, that she is queer and has become an icon for the LGBTQ+ community. Many have taken to Twitter to talk about this theory, with one user tweeting:

"Since we’re all tweeting about the SCREAM sequels, I just want to say: Parker Posey in SCREAM 3 is camp heaven. Her delivery of 'my lawyer liked that' alone made a generation of kids gay."

Another user tweeted that it would be "hotttt" if she were gay. One Twitter user joked that all gay men want to be Posey, with another writing that someone is bound to bring the actress up at some point when at a dinner party with gay men.

When asked about her sizeable queer fan base, Posey had nothing but positive things to say, stating she feels a sense of intimacy with them. As she expressed:

"Oh, I love the gays. Can we still say that — 'the gays'? Thank god for that community. I feel such a closeness with it. But I'm often surprised by who admires me. There was a 5-year-old boy I met outside a hardware store, and he goes, 'Dad, that lady's from Best in Show — the one with the Busy Bee!"'

She stated that she couldn't be happier having the combination of a queer fan base and her fan base of kids. As for her children, Posey prefers to stick to animals.

This actress is an ardent dog lover, with most of her social media posts filled to the brim with pictures of her dog Gracie, who sadly passed away. In one Instagram picture of her late dog, she captioned:

"Well, it’s clear Gracie has friends in high places—maybe Margaret is a relative? I’m unsure if Subaru is liable for Intellectual Pawperity. Please weigh in whether Gracie needs a lawyer😜"

She also shared other adorable posts, such as clips of Gracie "typing" on a laptop and enjoying being pet by her owner. In another sad post, Posey once again spoke about the death of her little pup, writing: As I'm sure many of you feel, our beloved pets make us better human beings. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨♥️"

WHERE IS PARKER ROSEY TODAY?

Perhaps Posey's true love is not a husband, wife, or child but rather following her passion as an actress with 106 credits behind her name. She is not stopping any time soon when in 2021, it was announced that she would be playing in HBO Max's "The Staircase."

She also played Doctor Harris in "Lost in Space" and was a guest star in Hulu's series rendition of the book "High Fidelity," among other projects. Her continuous acting career has\ won her 14 nominations and four awards.

As the longevity of her career continues, Posey is inevitably aging but stepping away from what Hollywood views as a terrible process; this actress is embracing it. She said:

"I like getting older. I’m not going, 'Oh my god, if I could just be young again.' I’ve always been kind of a little old lady."

She stated that aging is simply a "deepening" of who we are and that we never really lose "our true nature." Your roots go down further. Your branches widen, but you remain the person you always were.
